Nikki Bella is one of the most polarizing women on the current WWE roster. While many consider her one of the most relevant figures in the so-called "Women's Revolution," others criticize her for taking credit that should belong to wrestlers like Paige (Saraya), AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, or Charlotte Flair, who showed that women's wrestling could generate interest without resorting to the sexualized stereotypes of previous eras.

Criticisms continue to be common, especially after top talents like IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer declared in backstage segments that Bella paved the way for the women who came after. This is a stance that Big E also defended in the latest Raw Recap show, and which Nikki echoed in the most recent edition of her podcast Nikki & Brie Show.

"He talked a lot about my impact and the impact of Total Divas. Not enough is said about how many women who are there now came because of that. He really delved into the topic. It's very nice because I feel that more and more people with credibility are starting to speak in my favor. I know that for a long time it was like, 'I don't want the trolls to come attack me on the Internet,' so people never did. The hate is so repugnant. Even some of the chants I received (on Raw). Honestly, I think they were heard more on television because I was so focused on my moment that I didn't even notice or hear them until mom or you told me," Nikki said before praising the Boston audience for being "incredible."

The chants Nikki refers to took place in the last episode of Monday Night Raw, where the WWE Hall of Famer executed a heel turn by attacking Stephanie Vaquer to make it clear that she intends to take the Women's World Championship from her. Some dissatisfied fans with Bella began chanting "Cena left you!" in a clear reference to her breakup with the seventeen-time world champion when they were still engaged.
