The relationship between Joe Hendry and TNA has come to an end in a practically definitive way. Although his absence on Impact has been noticeable for weeks, the real explanation is that Hendry is now a full-time member of WWE. His constant presence in NXT was not just a collaboration: it was the previous step to his official incorporation.
According to Fightful, Hendry is no longer listed in TNA's internal listings for this weekend's events. However, it is not ruled out that he may come to say hello backstage, as he resides near the area. What did surprise internally was that he was not at Bound for Glory, not even off-camera.
From WWE, several sources confirmed that the company had been after him for a while. Shawn Michaels was one of the main advocates for his hiring, to the point of requesting that an early exit from the contract that still linked him to TNA for several months be negotiated.
Through his legal representation, Hendry managed to reach a friendly departure and make the leap to WWE in an orderly manner, a move that both parties have described as 'positive and professional'.
The transition has been cooking slowly since the beginning of the year, when rumors were already circulating that WWE wanted to secure his services. Jon Alba's report for Sports Illustrated, which hinted at that possibility, is now fully realized as Hendry begins a new stage in the world's largest company.
We will see what the future holds for Joe Hendry in WWE and what plans the company has for him. Despite having appeared in NXT on several occasions, the wrestler has already made his debut on the main roster, standing out in his match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41.
