John Cena will carry out his last appearance as an active wrestler on a weekly WWE show next Monday on Monday Night Raw. A show that will take place at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York, which will witness Cena's final match on the red brand. This was confirmed by the seventeen-time world champion in a recent post on his X account.
"For over 23 years you have allowed me to have 544 matches on WWE Raw. The most in WWE history! My favorite match... is the next one! Don't miss our LAST one! Don't miss our last chance to be in the ring at Madison Square Garden as we say goodbye to RAW live, Monday night on Netflix at 8pm ET!" wrote Cena.
It is worth remembering that Cena won the Intercontinental Championship on last Monday's red brand show to become a Grand Slam Champion in the presence of his friends and family in his home state of Massachusetts. A few days later, Netflix shared a promotional trailer for the Madison Square Garden show, hinting that Cena would compete in the event. Something that the wrestler has finally confirmed.
Therefore, Cena will repeat the same script as on SmackDown, the brand from which he bid farewell with a match for the United States Championship, at that time held by Sami Zayn. A match that was very well received by fans, but unfortunately was interrupted by Brock Lesnar.
For now, it is unknown who his opponent will be on Raw and if the Intercontinental title will be on the line. After Monday, there will only be two appearances left before the definitive retirement of "The Greatest of All Time": Survivor Series: WarGames and Saturday Night's Main Event, where he will have his final career match.
