Kyle Fletcher retained the TNT Championship in the latest episode of AEW Collision, which aired live last night at the Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, Pennsylvania. "The ProtoStar" defeated Scorpio Sky, a two-time TNT Champion, in one of the most outstanding matches of the event, thus securing his second consecutive defense on the Saturday show and extending his undefeated streak to 11-0.

Match Development

Fletcher started by kicking his opponent's hand, who was trying to shake the champion's hand as a sign of respect. Kyle tried to play with his opponent, but soon realized he was facing a veteran with extensive experience in every sense. Feeling overwhelmed, Fletcher left the ring, but Sky didn't take long to go after him. This would backfire when the champion surprised him with a side slam on the apron.

Fletcher then decided to kick Christopher Daniels (who was accompanying Sky in the match), provoking his opponent's fury, who threw the champion into the metal stairs. However, back in the ring, "The ProtoStar" regained control, launching an assault against Sky while mocking him.

Scorpio used the champion's attacks as fuel to re-energize and launch a strong counterattack that ended with both men at ringside. Back in the ring, Scorpio surprised Kyle with a Sky High that almost secured the victory. Kyle tried to counterattack, but Sky bit his hand before applying a Dragon Screw.

Scorpio managed to hit a Cutter on Fletcher on the apron before finishing him off with a diving DDT that once again came close to victory. Exhausted, both men continued the fight, with the champion surprising Sky with a Michinoku Driver. The challenger managed to survive the subsequent three count, but couldn't do anything against a definitive Brainbustah!!!

Mark Briscoe and Kyle Fletcher exchanged words before AEW Full Gear

After the match, Fletcher and his partner Mark Davis continued to attack Sky, at which point Mark Brisco, Dante, and Darius Martin came to the rescue. Briscoe took a microphone to make it clear that The Don Callis Family won't stop him. With that said, he advised Fletcher to enjoy his last week as champion because at Full Gear, he will take the title home.

Fletcher, on his part, pointed out that that night had been his eighth title defense, leaving him just one away from establishing the record for most defenses in the championship's history. "The ProtoStar" promised that Briscoe will help him solidify his legacy as the greatest TNT Champion in history while his rival joins Don Callis' faction. And then he will have no choice but to call him by his full name.

Thus, Kyle Fletcher adds his eighth title defense in his first reign as TNT Champion. A title he won 108 days ago after defeating Dustin Rhodes in a bloody Chicago Street Fight, which left the veteran wrestler out of action after suffering serious knee injuries. As a curious fact, last night was the first one-on-one match between Fletcher and Sky in their respective careers.
