Ricky Steamboat admits that he didn’t like the women’s Blood And Guts match

Ricky Steamboat was one of the main characters in the most recent edition of AEW Blood And Guts, the annual special event of All Elite Wrestling known for its chaotic battles between two teams. Battles that show no mercy to the viewer and end up taking a toll on its participants, many of whom end up bleeding, living up to the event's name.

This year, there was also the first-ever women's Blood And Guts match in history. A match that turned out to be truly bloody and satisfied a good portion of the fans. However, there were those who did not enjoy the battle for various reasons. Steamboat was one of them, as he confessed in a recent interview with Bill Apter.

"I didn't care for it... God bless the girls who were in that match, but I didn't like it. I don't know if it was just too much... They had like 16 girls there or something like that, there were too many things happening. In one corner, two girls doing something; in the middle of the ring, two or three girls doing something else. Then you go to the other ring and two or three girls doing something else. You couldn't focus on anything because there was too much action, and for me, it's hard to react. Some of those girls... no, I never talked to them afterward. I'm sorry. But, you know, how many times have they had to do that in their career? I would think for many of them, maybe it was the first time, right?" Steamboat said.

Regardless of the legend's personal preferences, the women's Blood And Guts received very positive reviews from fans. Additionally, its participants were fully satisfied with the work done, with many of them proudly sharing photos of their battle wounds on social media. It is hoped that next year, women will once again have their own Blood And Guts match.
