Maya World and Hyan have earned many points with All Elite Wrestling thanks to their professionalism. Both women stepped up after Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize refused to compete in the AEW Collision episode on November 8, where they were scheduled to lose in a match lasting only three minutes.
Newell and Alize's refusal required an urgent replacement, as the show was about to start. It was at that moment when Hyan and World agreed to fill the vacancy, allowing the program's script to be maintained. This gesture was highly praised by the company, which has rewarded the wrestlers with new appearances since then. And there could be more for them in the very near future, as indicated by a recent report from Fightful.
"Maya World and Hyan have been two of the most valued independent wrestlers in recent years, and they seized an opportunity. Both got a last-minute match in a recent episode of Collision when Miranda Alize and Nixon Newell chose not to show up, and then ended up getting an eight-minute match in the following week's Collision episode. According to AEW sources, this was a direct result of how well they handled the situation the previous week," the outlet wrote.
"It was confirmed to Fightful that Maya World and Hyan are not under contract with All Elite Wrestling, but it was stated that the company has a great interest in using them in the future. AEW sources we spoke to said that it wouldn't be surprising to see the duo under contract sooner rather than later," the report concluded.
World and Hyan lost to Tay Melo and Anna Jay in a match lasting just two minutes, replacing Alize and Newell. This took place on November 8 at AEW Collision. That same night, the company granted them a tag team match against Athena and Billie Starkz, two of the standout wrestlers from ROH. A match that would later be aired on the promotion's weekly show.
A week later, again on AEW Collision, World and Hyan faced off against Alex Windsor and Riho in a nearly eight-minute match. With this move, All Elite Wrestling not only wanted to properly thank two talents for their professionalism, but also send a loud and clear message: seriousness in work has its rewards.
