Thunder Rosa is one of the most veteran wrestlers on the All Elite Wrestling roster, and also one of the most unfortunate when it comes to injuries. The Mexican had to step away from action in 2022 due to a severe back injury, which took her more than a year to recover from. A process she is going through once again.

Rosa is dealing with a new injury, and it is not expected that she will be medically cleared for the remainder of the year. This was explained by the former AEW Women's World Champion in a recent appearance on Masks Mats & Mayhem when asked about a possible reunion with Toni Storm.

"Unfortunately, it doesn't depend on me", Rosa replied. "I just work there. I just go, show up, say 'thank you very much. I'm happy to be here and when I come back and fight, that's what I'll do'. I would have loved it, but given the current circumstances, I can't be in the ring. So people have to move on, and that's what happened... And for me, right now, my health is super important for the rest of my career".

"I'm getting ready to return to the ring, which is important", she continued. "I think this year 2026, is going to be extremely important. I have to stay healthy for big opportunities to come in the future. How will they look? I don't know yet. But for sure my Master's degree is on the way, and also some music, and a documentary. So there are many things we are working on".

Rosa last competed on July 12 in the Casino Gauntlet at All In Texas. A couple of weeks later, the wrestler went to her YouTube channel to announce that she would be taking a well-deserved break, without giving further details. Several media outlets were able to find out that Rosa was dealing with an undisclosed injury, something the wrestler has confirmed in this latest interview. Fortunately, it seems that her recovery is progressing satisfactorily and her fans will soon be able to see her back in the ring.
