Tony Khan once again diplomatically referred to Eric Bischoff during his recent appearance on Ariel Helwani's show. The president of AEW stated that, although Bischoff frequently criticizes the company, he does not take it personally and understands that the former WCW executive generates content by talking about a product that is on television every week.

Khan commented that Bischoff knows how, in his time, many important names in the industry also had strong opinions about him, but he pointed out that he did not intend to compare himself or attribute greater achievements. A soft, almost diplomatic message, although perhaps too soft for Bischoff.

In his podcast 83 Weeks, Bischoff wasted no time in responding. After hearing Khan's words, he made it clear that the AEW president had completely avoided the core of his criticisms. "I don't know what to think. He didn't respond to anything. All he said is that I talk a lot about AEW. And I want to make something clear: I don't like talking about AEW. I said months ago that I didn't want to keep doing it because there was nothing new to say".

Bischoff insisted that he only speaks out when directly asked and that he has no obsession with AEW, but he also won't dodge a question on his own show. And regarding the content of his criticisms, he made it very clear:

My criticism of Tony Khan and AEW may have been sharp at times, but it is based on facts, experience, and what is happening right now.

Bischoff insists on the problem: the lack of stories

The former WCW president recalled that he has been warning for over five years about the absence of solid storytelling, character development, and narrative structure in AEW. For him, the decline in viewership is no surprise and he once again points out that it is a direct consequence of ignoring this fundamental aspect.

Bischoff appreciated Khan's respectful tone, but he gave him a very clear recommendation: to listen more to people with experience, even when they are regular critics like Jim Cornette.

To conclude, Bischoff hinted that he would have no problem sitting down with Khan and talking face to face, although he also doesn't see the purpose of such a meeting. "Bring me a wine and a good steak and I'll talk to whoever is necessary".
