Ken Anderson, known as Mr. Kennedy in WWE, has spoken candidly about his departure from the company in 2009, an episode that for years he associated with John Cena and Randy Orton. However, more than a decade later, his perspective on that moment has completely changed, and now he acknowledges that he wants to definitively close that chapter of his life.
During a conversation with Championship Sports Blog, Kennedy was asked if he ever felt animosity towards John Cena or Randy Orton after his release. He admitted that he did: he spent years hating them, holding onto a rage that he eventually understood was affecting no one but himself.
Oh yes, of course. There were years when I hated those guys. But one day I realized that hating them serves no purpose. They don't care. The only one it hurts is me. They always say that hating someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.
Kennedy also recalled his visit to the backstage of WWE RAW in 2020, an appearance that sparked rumors at the time. He explained that he simply went to greet former colleagues, as he remains friends with several members of the roster and the technical team.
It was there that he reunited with Orton. According to him, they didn't discuss past issues, but they had a friendly conversation for about 45 minutes. A cordial contact that made him think that perhaps it's time to take a step further and resolve their differences definitively.
The former champion made it clear that he would like to sit down with Orton calmly, talk without tensions, and put an end to a conflict that he carried for too long. Although the current stance of the WWE wrestler is unknown, Kennedy seems determined to leave behind that shadow of 2009.
In the same interview, Anderson also talked about his future with TNA, which he is currently unsure about. He recently returned to the screen under the wing of the company, but it was a sporadic appearance.
