The wrestler Eddie Kingston had been hinting for days that he was not going to look back in this final stretch of his independent career, and after his victory over Katsuyori Shibata at AEW Collision, he decided to take the definitive step: to stand before Samoa Joe and ask him for a shot at the AEW World Championship.

The challenge was quickly answered from the offices. Hours after the show, Tony Khan officially confirmed the match through his social media, turning Kingston's challenge into the main attraction of AEW Dynamite: Winter Is Coming on December 10th at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta. It will be Joe's first televised title defense since taking the belt from Adam Page at Full Gear.

In two weeks, Samoa Joe will defend the AEW World Championship against Eddie Kingston. Winter Is Coming will be a special night in Atlanta.

The match comes at a crucial moment for Kingston, who just a few weeks ago announced that he is facing his "last run" on the independent circuit. After bidding farewell to promotions like Beyond Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Junkie in New Jersey, he made it clear that starting in December he will only accept one show per month, with the intention of closing that chapter next November. Winter Is Coming will be a two-day event.

The second day will take place under the umbrella of AEW Collision on December 13th at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff, Wales. Below you can read the updated card for AEW Dynamite on December 10th.
