USA Network and Netflix have aired a new edition of Friday Night SmackDown this Friday, a show that featured the latest matches corresponding to the quarterfinals of the tournament The Last Time is Now.
One of the mysteries of the show, despite the spoilers of the recordings being leaked last week, was which wrestler was going to replace Sheamus due to injury. Finally, it was The Miz who took that spot, but he lost to LA Knight the opportunity to qualify for the semifinals after being defeated.
On the other hand, Jey Uso defeated Rusev in the opener, thus closing the semifinals bracket. Therefore, Gunther will face Solo Sikoa to determine the first finalist, while LA Knight and Jey Uso will do the same to determine the second. WWE has not confirmed it, but it is expected that these matches will take place in next week's editions of Raw and SmackDown.
The final winner of the tournament will face John Cena on December 13th, at Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington D.C., for what will be the final match of the 17-time world champion's career. A historic appointment that makes this tournament one of the most important on the calendar.
