WWE held last night the two semifinals of the Last Time is Now tournament to determine John Cena's final opponent. LA Knight and Gunther secured their spot in the final after sweating it out to win their respective matches.
LA Knight defeated Jey Uso in a match that didn't tilt until the last second. Jey Uso had his opponent in sight, after executing the Spear and the Uso Splash, but LA Knight managed to reverse the count to take the victory by a count of three. On the other hand, Gunther got rid of Solo Sikoa, who received help from Talla Tonga. Despite this, the Austrian imposed his experience, applied a low blow to Sikoa, and the Powerbomb to take the victory by a count of three.
Thus, LA Knight and Gunther will face each other in the final match that will decide the tournament winner and John Cena's final opponent. WWE has confirmed when that match will be decided: it will be this Friday on SmackDown taking place at the Moody Center in Austin, TX. The match against John Cena will take place on December 13 in a new edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the winner of the final will appear on Raw next Monday.
