WWE is in full growth. After being purchased by Endeavor, the company has undergone a series of profound changes in all areas that have contributed to creating a new brand image, much more commercial and oriented towards entertainment than ever before.

The presence of WWE and its superstars on social networks, collaborations with brands and other sports companies, or million-dollar sponsorships are just some examples of the current business model of a company that is well known in the United States. However, its president Nick Khan wants to go one step further and turn it into one of the country's big four leagues, for which they will have to surpass one of them.

"In WWE, we see everything as our competition, including the possibility of someone staying at home on a Saturday night looking at their phone, sending messages to their friends, and watching TikTok. When I see things like the NFL last Christmas Day and Beyoncé's halftime show, that inspires me. That is our competition. I'm not saying we are still in the same league as the NFL, but I look at them and say, 'Wow, they nailed it'. They did it so well that you saw other networks on Thanksgiving Day with their halftime shows to show Netflix: 'You can do the Beyoncé show, we can do Jack White and Eminem,' which I thought was great and a smart idea," Khan said in an interview with RING Magazine.

"That's what we are observing. How do we compete with them?" he continued. "When we receive our Black Friday figures from Fanatics, what we are curious to know is how we compare to the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB. Soon, we will take the place of one of those entities. Assume it won't be the NFL or the NBA. We are going to take that place. That's where we want to get to."

With the NBA and NFL ruled out, WWE will have to put all its effort into surpassing the baseball league (MLB) and the ice hockey league (NHL). Considering WWE's constant presence on social media and its success on popular platforms like Netflix, ESPN, and YouTube, Khan's goal seems, at least, achievable. However, WWE is not a traditional sports league, and its popularity will always depend on the good work of its creative team
