The second season of WWE Unreal is already underway and Netflix has begun gathering several of the most relevant names in the company to record their interviews. Following the success of the first season, the platform and WWE are looking to replicate the formula with a year full of creative twists, contractual breakups, and moments that ignited the audience and could come to light in 2026.

According to BodySlam on Patreon, wrestlers such as R-Truth, Iyo Sky, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Lyra Valkyria, and Penta are getting ready to film their segments, while a large part of the backstage footage from recent months is already recorded.

With the variety of events over the past eight months, WWE and Netflix would have already completed a significant amount of content for season 2.

Key stories to be addressed in the new season

One of the central plots will be the departure of R-Truth after the expiration of his contract and his subsequent return, an episode that sparked a wave of comments on social media and abruptly altered WWE's internal narrative. Another pillar will be Seth Rollins' cash-in at SummerSlam.

The former champion feigned an injury to deceive the audience before successfully cashing in his briefcase on CM Punk, a move that became one of the most talked-about moments of the year. The season will also document the rise and fall of several roster wrestlers, the most controversial creative decisions, and the internal workings of the production team in the year WWE premiered its historic alliance with Netflix.

The legacy of the first season

Season 1 of WWE Unreal surprised by showing, unfiltered, the creative process of WWE. Its episodes covered everything from the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber to John Cena's failed heel turn attempt and the road to WrestleMania 41. The audience rewarded the honesty of the format, and Netflix wants to double down with more recent, raw, and closer-to-the-wrestlers content.
