Zack Sabre Jr and Ryohei Oiwa are crowned World Tag League 2025 champions

The 2025 World Tag League tournament already has its winners: Zack Sabre Jr. and Ryohei Oiwa lifted the trophy after defeating Yota Tsuji and Gabe Kidd in the final of a highly contested match that kept the entire audience at the Gran Messe Kumamoto on the edge of their seats. The final minutes were a frenetic battle in which Kidd tried to resist Oiwa, until the latter brought down the Englishman with a devastating lariat that left him falling headfirst. Oiwa covered Kidd to secure the victory and, with it, a likely challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 20.

After the match, it was Oiwa himself who took the mic to explain his evolution in TMDK. The young wrestler claimed that he is now a real protagonist within NJPW. He thanked Sabre for his growth and promised that they will dominate the company in 2026. The celebration with confetti rain closed the night.

In the backstage, Sabre Jr. reinforced that idea and encouraged Oiwa to take the next step: to snatch the titles from the Knock Out Brothers (Yuto-Ice and Oskar). The champion duo came very close to reaching the final after falling in the semifinals. On the other side, Tsuji and Kidd reached the final after drawing with Goto and YOSHI-HASHI and surpassing them on tiebreaker criteria.

• El Phantasmo defeated Hartley Jackson to retain the NJPW Television World Championship.
• Monster Sauce (Archer and Zayne), Team 100 (Kojima and Taichi), and Yasuda defeated Bishamon, Murashima, Boltin, and Matsumoto in a trios match.
• House of Torture (Fale, SHO, and Kanemaru) defeated El Desperado, Shoma Kato, and Shuji Ishikawa in a trios match.
• War Dragons (Takagi and Moloney) and Taiji Ishimori defeated House of Torture (Owens, DOUKI, and Yujiro Takahashi) in a match marked by the Ishimori-DOUKI duel and the growing chemistry between the War Dogs.
• Hiroshi Tanahashi, Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura defeated Knockout Brothers (Oskar and Yuto-Ice) and Daiki Nagai. Tanahashi sealed the victory over Nagai after applying the Sling Blade and High Fly Flow in a match that highlighted the tension between Nagai and his teammates.
• David Finlay and Hiromu Takahashi versus United Empire (Callum Newman and Great-O-Khan) ended in disqualification. Newman attacked Finlay with a chair, sparking a brawl that ended with Newman threatening Takahashi and a formal challenge for Wrestle Kingdom 20.
• Master Wato, Yano, and YOH defeated EVIL, Narita & SANADA to retain the NEVER Openweight Trios Championship.
• 2025 World Tag League Final: TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.) defeated Gabe Kidd & Yota Tsuji. The match concluded with Oiwa finishing off Kidd with The Grip to win the tournament.
