JD McDonagh has confirmed that he is officially sidelined from action after undergoing surgery. The Judgment Day fighter posted an image on his Instagram account showing him lying on a stretcher with his hand completely immobilized, revealing that the injury was no longer something he could ignore.

"I've been dealing with some things these past few months, but now it's time to hit the brakes and get myself back in order. I won't be long," McDonagh wrote, hinting that the operation was inevitable after weeks of competing in pain. Although he did not detail the exact nature of the injury, the photograph with the bandaged hand suggests a serious issue with the wrist or hand, a critical area for any competitor regularly involved in fights of his style.

McDonagh's last appearance in the ring was on November 24 on Monday Night Raw, where he fell to Rey Mysterio in a singles match. Since then, his absence had sparked speculation about his physical condition, which is now clarified.

This is not the first time McDonagh has been sidelined in 2025 due to an injury. In January, during an episode of Monday Night Raw, the Irish wrestler jumped towards the ringside onto Ivar of the Viking Raiders, with the misfortune of hitting his head heavily on the commentator's table. Fortunately, despite the dramatic incident, McDonagh was able to continue fighting. However, it was reported that afterwards he was taken to a nearby hospital. He was practically sidelined for 3 months.
