Saya Kamitani has become one of the best fighters in the world through her own merits. The Japanese is about to complete an impeccable 2025, the best year of her professional career. Kamitani has not only held the STARDOM World Championship throughout the year - in fact, in just two weeks she will reach 365 days as champion - but she is also the current NJPW STRONG Women's Champion.

Now she can also boast of being the first woman to win the MVP Award from Tokyo Sports. The H.A.T.E. member has just received the prestigious award that was previously given to top stars like Zack Sabre Jr. (2024), Tetsuya Naito (2023), and Kazuchika Okada (2022). This award debuted in 1974, with Antonio Inoki being its first recipient.

In addition to her title triumphs, Kamitani has starred in some of the best matches of the year. Noteworthy is her match against Tam Nakano at All Star Grand Queendom, where she put the promotion's World Championship on the line against the "Top Kawaii Of The Cosmos" career, which ended with the retirement of the latter in one of the most emotional days of this year.

At 29 years old, Kamitani seems comfortable in her role as leader in STARDOM, a company she has also represented in other Japanese promotions such as WAVE, Sareee-ISM, or New Japan Pro-Wrestling itself. Fortunately, injuries have respected the fighter, allowing her to enjoy a full 2025.

She is currently scheduled to face Syuri at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 in a match where the NJPW STRONG Championships (held by Kamitani) and Women's IWGP (held by Syuri) will be at stake. If she achieves victory, Kamitani would once again write her name in the history books as the first woman to hold three of the most important titles in Japanese wrestling at the same time. However, she will first have to defeat Saori Anou at DREAM QUEENDOM, where the top STARDOM championship will be on the line.
