The Holiday Bash of AEW Dynamite and Collision edition defined the final of the Dynamite Diamond Ring, one of the most symbolic trophies of the company. After overcoming a battle royal of twelve participants, Bandido and the AEW National Champion, Ricochet, will be the ones to fight for the ring next Wednesday on Dynamite on 34th Street. The winner will also earn a title shot in January.

Ricochet had the involuntary support of the Gates of Agony, who remained in the match until the final moments. The fight came down to five names: Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona, Brody King, Ricochet, and Bandido. At a decisive moment, Brody King launched a clothesline that ended up throwing both himself and Liona out of the ring, leaving the path clear for the other contenders.

Bandido delivered the most spectacular elimination of the night by getting rid of Kaun with a reverse frankensteiner over the ropes, thus certifying his pass to the final. The battle royal also featured names like Ace Austin, Shelton Benjamin, Josh Alexander, and Luchasaurus, who brought a variety of styles and an intense pace to the usual chaos of the format.

A historic precedent for AEW

For the first time since its creation six years ago, the Dynamite Diamond Ring will have a different holder than MJF, who monopolized the prize since its first edition. And, furthermore, Bandido and Ricochet have never faced each other in an individual match, so AEW will arrive at Dynamite on 34th Street with a completely unprecedented final.
