The countdown to the historic debut of TNA Wrestling on AMC is entering its final stretch, but before stepping onto the new platform, the company has planned an episode full of activity. During the Christmas special aired this Thursday, the full card for New Year's Impact was confirmed, a program that will serve as a symbolic conclusion to the previous stage before the television leap.
The event will be headlined by Frankie Kazarian, who will defend the TNA World Championship against Bear Bronson. Bronson became the title contender after winning a battle royal earlier this month, and he comes into this match at the peak of his career.
There will also be media focus on the International Champion Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Arianna Grace, who will speak for the first time since the controversial scene last week, where Grace delivered a low blow to her father, Santino Marella, during the chaotic NXT vs. TNA cage match. The sequence sparked a wave of reactions on social media and has added an unexpected dramatic layer to Grace's character.
The Knockouts division is presented with a double showcase: on one hand, a triple threat match with Indi Hartwell, Jody Threat, and Jada Stone facing off against Tessa Blanchard, Victoria Crawford, and Mila Moore. On the other hand, The Angel Warriors will collide with The Elegance Brand in a tag team match that aims to solidify internal hierarchies before the jump to AMC.
The card is completed with a singles match between Mustafa Ali and the enigmatic Home Town Man, an addition that seeks to bring variety to the episode before the big relaunch.
