While AEW was celebrating its last PPV of the year, Worlds End, Chris Jericho once again sparked conversation about his future. The Canadian revived his podcast The Winnipeggers on YouTube, a relaxed space where he chats and jokes with two lifelong friends. During the broadcast, his iconic WWE debut in 1999 was remembered, and he expressed the desire to see himself return to the company.
Jericho didn't shy away from the topic. With a smile and a knowing gesture, he replied: "You never know. You never know." Those words were enough to fuel speculation just as his contractual situation is under scrutiny.
AEW's first world champion hasn't appeared on television since April, when he abandoned Bryan Keith and Big Bill after another defeat. As he himself revealed, his contract expires at the end of 2025, reinforcing the idea that his return to WWE could happen in 2026, possibly as soon as the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia.
Tony Khan has reiterated several times that he wants Jericho to finish his career in AEW and would like to continue counting on him. However, he hasn't offered details about his absence in this year's creative plans, something that hasn't gone unnoticed by fans.
Although the 55-year-old veteran hasn't wrestled since Dynasty in April, he has remained active with other projects: tours with Fozzy, podcasts, and various promotional appearances. His presence continues to generate interest, and each of his statements only amplifies the suspense about his next move.
