Izzi Dame talks with Shawn Spears and Niko Vance backstage. Dame believes that Tatum Paxley has gone mad, as evidenced by her actions last week when she threatened them with a chainsaw. Izzi points out that they must talk to her immediately. Spears stops her, claiming it's not a good idea. Not after what they've seen of this new version of Tatum. "Alright. I'll do it myself," says Dame before leaving. "I'm not afraid of Tatum. I'm not afraid of Tatum", she repeats over and over as she walks backstage.
We see a pained Kendal Grey lying on the ground while Wren Sinclair screams for help. What happened?
Izzi Dame makes her way to the ring. Dame takes a microphone to address Tatum Paxley directly. Izzi acknowledges that she should never have tried to change her because Tatum will always be that girl who hides in her fantasy world. What she doesn't understand is why she's going after Niko Vance and Shawn Spears when it was she who caused her so much pain. Also, did she really believe that threatening her colleagues would make her feel fear? Dame assures her that nothing she does can scare her. That said, she claims that she was never the villain of this story. "I was your cure," she says. Izzi reminds her that she pulled her out of the pit she was in. And that's exactly where she returned her when Paxley decided not to evolve.
Tatum Paxley appears on the entrance ramp
"Tatum, Tatum!" chant the fans. Paxley heads to the ring as she acknowledges that she has learned a lot from Dame. Although she may not believe it, Tatum always showed interest in what Izzi told her and felt everything she experienced with her. And that's why she needs to tell her something. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry you're so insecure," says Tatum. "Somewhere along the way, Izzi, you lost sight of who you really are. You feel like you have to be in control, that you have to instill fear in others to feel powerful. Hurting people... that's cowardice. And yet, you say that I'm the weak one? That I'm the one who needs to look in the mirror to see who I really am? But Izzi, I know you're too scared to do it yourself," says Tatum. "Izzi, I've realized something. I don't need friends like you. I need friends who have been with me from the beginning. I need friends like all of them," she says as she points to the audience. "Izzi, you beat me at Deadline. I'm not here to finish what you started. I'm here to finish it for me."
Dame insists that Paxley hasn't listened to her. Because if she had, she would still be the NXT Champion. Izzi suggests she keep playing with her dolls in her fantasy world. "Keep playing, Tatum. I'll play too. So go ahead," says Izzi to accept Paxley's challenge. She promises that next week it will be Dame who screams when they face each other one-on-one. And it will be a match where Niko Vance and Spears won't be present. "Just you and me," says Paxley. Izzi accepts the challenge, stating that Tatum will suffer a second defeat. And when she does, this game will be over. Dame throws the mic to the mat before heading backstage. "You don't have control, Izzi," says Tatum before Dame can leave the ring. "It won't end until I say so," she adds. Upset, Izzi tries to surprise her with a big boot from behind. Tatum dodges without looking to respond with a Psycho Trap. Paxley poses with her enemy as the segment comes to an end.
