AEW faces another physical setback within its roster after the Worlds End weekend. In a particularly busy moment in the calendar, a new injury has forced the company to readjust its plans with one of its most recognizable talents.
The signs were already there for the most attentive viewers. In the December 31 episode of Dynamite, Luchasaurus appeared with a bulky bandage on his shoulder, an image that did not quite fit with a simple aesthetic or narrative decision.
During the course of the program, AEW opted for a creative solution to take him out of the scene. Luchasaurus was attacked by Toa Liona and sent backstage in the middle of the match, a maneuver that now makes complete sense.
According to Fightful Select, the shoulder injury is legitimate and will force Luchasaurus to miss time in the ring. "Luchasaurus' injury is real and he is expected to be out of action for a period of time, although the exact severity and whether surgery will be necessary have not yet been detailed," wrote Sean Ross Sapp.
For now, no further medical details have been disclosed. AEW has not specified the extent of the problem or offered an approximate recovery timeline, leaving open the possibility that the absence may be more or less prolonged. Pending further information, the priority now is Luchasaurus' recovery.
