The United States Championship for women changed hands once again this Friday in the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. Two months after losing it controversially, Giulia managed to reclaim the gold with a clear victory that strengthens her position within the division.

In the final stretch of the match, Chelsea Green came close to retaining after hitting the Radio Silence, her husband Matt Cardona's finishing move, who had returned to WWE minutes earlier. However, when the champion climbed to the top rope, Giulia reacted decisively.

The challenger brought down Green with a butterfly superplex and finished the sequence with a northern lights bomb to secure the clean three-count and confirm the title change in front of the SmackDown audience.

Green's reign had begun in November, when she took advantage of a distraction at ringside caused by a fight between Kiana James and Alba Fyre. On that occasion, Green surprised Giulia with a roll-up, using the ropes for leverage to controversially win the championship.

Since then, Giulia and James have maintained a constant rivalry with Green and Fyre, both in singles and tag team matches, on television and at live events, a tension that finally led to this outcome.

With this victory, Giulia now has two reigns as the United States Women's Champion, in addition to a NXT Women's Championship, all in just 16 months since her arrival on the WWE roster.
