After several months away from television programming, Jacob Fatu would be ready to return to WWE. Everything points to his comeback taking place on the SmackDown episode of January 9th, which will be held in Berlin, Germany, marking the end of an absence caused by a brutal beating on screen and subsequent dental surgery.
According to Self Made Pro, internally, WWE would have already marked that episode as the point of return for the "Samoan Werewolf", whose name had been on the table for an important 2026 within the company.
Jacob Fatu is scheduled to return to the Friday program. I was informed about it a week ago.
However, the return would not be exactly as many fans remember it. Although Fatu left as a babyface, in recent weeks creative proposals have been debated that consider a character turn, moving him away from a clearly positive role and exploring a more aggressive or directly heel facet.
Fatu's absence began in October, when he was brutally attacked by Drew McIntyre in a particularly graphic segment that left him bloodied and out of action. Since then, WWE has been waiting for the right moment to bring him back and relaunch him strongly.
With previous reports indicating that the company wants 2026 to be a definitive breakthrough year for Jacob Fatu, his return this Friday could be the first step in a key stage of his career, and perhaps with a very different version of the wrestler that the audience knew.
