R-Truth has openly spoken about one of the strangest and most emotional moments of his entire career. After his brief departure from WWE in 2025, a situation that caused a strong negative reaction from fans, the veteran ended up returning to the company just a week later. Now, that episode will be part of the storyline of the second season of WWE: Unreal on Netflix.

During an interview with Stephen A. Smith, conducted as part of the series promotion, R-Truth explained how he really felt at that moment. Beyond the initial shock, he acknowledged that it was a period of personal reflection, especially considering his age and the stage of his career he is in.

It was a feeling of emptiness. Sometimes we lose sight of who we are. There are people my age and older whose time is not up yet. I believe that each person has their own moment, and within that time, you can still make things happen.

As the days passed, the audience's reaction completely changed his perspective. R-Truth stated that everything happened at the right moment, as the massive support from fans showed him that his value within the business remained intact, and even at its peak.

After his match against John Cena on Saturday Night's Main Event on May 24, 2025, R-Truth publicly announced that his contract would not be renewed. The fans' response was immediate and resounding. Just a week later, he returned at Money in the Bank 2025 with a much more serious character, helping Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes against Cena and Logan Paul.

This unexpected turn, both creatively and personally, is one of the moments that Netflix will explore in WWE: Unreal, showing an unusual side of R-Truth: that of a veteran aware of his legacy, but still with much to offer.
