TNA Wrestling will start a new era starting tomorrow with the premiere of Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC. However, the transition to the new channel has been accompanied by a great deal of work in the offices, as many contracts had to be reviewed. Thus, in recent weeks, a series of decisions have been made that have resulted in several talents leaving the company, such as Killer Kelly, while others have renewed their contracts.
In this latest block, we have wrestlers like Mustafa Ali, Steve Maclin, or Jody Threat, who will continue to be part of the company's television programming. They are joined by John Skyler, who this afternoon confirmed his renewal with TNA during an interview with Busted Open Radio.
"Oh God, this is a great story. I guess I can talk about it now," said Skyler. "I was getting ready to leave my apartment to go to the gym. And the cell phone signal here in the apartment complex is really bad, so I look at the phone and see that Tommy Dreamer is calling me. So I go back into the apartment because I feel like this is probably important."
"I answer the phone and hear on the other end: 'Hey, what's up?'. I say: 'How's it going, Tommy?'. He says: 'Is your contract ending in December?'. And I reply: 'Yes'. And he says: 'Great, thanks for letting me know. How about this amount of money to stay?'. And I say: 'Sounds good to me'. (Dreamer says): 'Perfect, thanks for negotiating. Talk to you later'. And that was it."
Skyler shared his satisfaction at being able to be part of the best team he has ever worked with, stating that the premiere of TNA on AMC feels like a dream for everyone. So much so that he even compared it to the celebration of ECW's first PPV, Barely Legal, held in 1997.
Skyler will compete in the premiere episode of Thursday Night iMPACT! teaming up with his Order 4 teammates, Mustafa Ali and Jason Hotch, to face TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys and Elijah in a three-on-three tag team match.
