NXT has experienced some changes in recent weeks due to the promotion of several talents to the main roster of WWE. As a result, some Evolve stars have signed with the developmental territory, taking a step closer to the top. However, while some continue to work towards their dreams, others give up on the idea, as is the case we are addressing today.
We are talking about Brinley Reece, who last week took to her social media to announce the end of her journey in NXT. The wrestler explained that it was not a dismissal, but a personal and necessary decision to ensure her health and future.
"After three years, I am officially closing my chapter as a WWE wrestler. This decision comes after facing personal health issues and a serious injury that required surgery last year. It was not an easy decision, but a necessary one: choosing to prioritize my health, my body, and my future.
"The last three years have been truly transformative. WWE demanded of me in ways I never imagined, taught me resilience, discipline, and confidence, and allowed me to grow not only as a wrestler but also as a person. Every obstacle, every victory, every long day, and every tough moment shaped who I am today, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
To my fans: you are the reason I kept going on the toughest days. Your messages, your encouragement, your love, and your faith in me never went unnoticed. You were with me through injuries, recovery, growth, and transformation, and I will carry that support with me forever. I love you more than words can express.
This is not an end, it's a change of direction. I am proud of everything I gave in this chapter and even more excited for what's to come. Thank you for being part of my journey. The best is yet to come," Reece wrote in a post on her Instagram account.
Reece debuted in NXT in 2023 as part of that year's Women's Breakout Tournament. Since then, the wrestler became a recurring talent on NXT Level Up and non-televised live events of NXT until her definitive jump to the main brand. Once there, she joined Edris Enofé and Malik Blade, becoming the most lively and vibrant part of the group. However, her teammates' injuries ended any plans for the team.
Since then, Reece continued her career solo, and even participated in some TNA shows as part of the collaboration agreement that Anthem Media's company maintains with WWE. In her last months of activity, Reece competed in Evolve, in addition to continuing to participate in non-televised live events of NXT.
Last March, Reece was removed from the lineup after suffering a shoulder injury that required surgery. Despite her recovery progressing satisfactorily, Brinley has chosen not to continue fighting, at least for now. Meanwhile, WWE confirmed her departure today when the wrestler's profile has been moved to the Alumni section.
