The future of Powerhouse Hobbs clearly points to a change of scenery. According to the latest information published by Fightful Select, the wrestler's contract with All Elite Wrestling officially expires at midnight, leaving his situation completely open.
According to Sean Ross Sapp, AEW and Hobbs have been negotiating for months to try to close a renewal. The company even put a very important offer on the table for him to continue with the company, but Hobbs has chosen to explore the market before making a final decision.
Sources within WWE assure that, as of today, it is expected that Hobbs will end up joining the Stamford-based company. As of this week, the wrestler would already be contractually eligible to sign, and within WWE there is a feeling that his arrival is just a matter of time, unless there is a last-minute unexpected turn of events.
Fightful Select highlights that Hobbs' departure from AEW would occur on very good terms. The wrestler himself finished his television commitments in the tapings of AEW Collision after Dynamite, which reinforces the idea of an orderly closure of his time in the company.
WWE's interest in Powerhouse Hobbs is not new. A couple of years ago, when Dan Ventrelle was in charge of talent relations, the company showed interest in bringing him in, although at that time Hobbs decided to stay with AEW.
In recent months, rumors had circulated about a possible jump to WWE, although there had been no direct contact until now. With his contract coming to an end and firm interest from Stamford, everything points to the powerful wrestler being on the verge of starting a new chapter in his career.
