WWE wants to start the year big and Paul "Triple H" Levesque has made it clear. During his appearance this Friday on ESPN's Get Up show, the company's creative director hinted that this weekend's Royal Rumble will be one of the most powerful in recent memory.
The event will take place this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will have an added historical component: it will be the first Royal Rumble to be broadcast under WWE's new agreement with ESPN. A special context that, according to Levesque, comes with a level of stars and surprises to match.
The Royal Rumble is one of those incredible events because every few minutes someone new enters the fight. Throughout almost an hour you are constantly surprised by who comes out and the changing strategy each time. This year will be no different. There will be many surprises and, moreover, it is one of the Rumbles with the most stars that I can remember. It's going to be epic.
Levesque pointed out that both the men's and women's Rumble will feature particularly loaded rosters. On the men's side, he mentioned names like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Jey Uso, Bron Breakker, or Logan Paul, while on the women's side he cited figures like Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, and Liv Morgan.
Beyond the individual names, Triple H compared the Royal Rumble to the start of the NFL playoffs. For WWE, this event marks the official start of the road to WrestleMania 42, which will take place in April in Las Vegas.
The Royal Rumble will air this Saturday starting at 2:00 PM (Eastern time). In the United States, it can be watched live through the ESPN app, while in the rest of the world it will be broadcast on Netflix.
