Last night, the third episode of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC took place, this time held at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The show featured several matches and segments of interest, including the in-ring debut of Elayna Black as a new talent for TNA.
Under the watchful eye of Daria Rae, who witnessed the match from the commentary table, Black faced local wrestler Ruthie Jay. Elayna quickly took control of the match while taunting her opponent. Although Jay managed to unsettle Black for a few moments, she was defenseless against a running knee strike that left her vulnerable to a definitive double underhook twisting neckbreaker.
The match last night was not Black's first in the Anthem Media company. Last year, she competed in the same company as NXT talent. Formerly known as Cora Jade, she secured four consecutive victories against prominent TNA talents such as Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside, before losing to Masha Slamovich in a match for the Knockouts World Championship.
Prior to that, during her second year as a professional wrestler, Black participated in a pre-show for IMPACT Bound for Glory 2019, where she was defeated in a brief three-minute match against Havok. Now, six years later, Black has returned with a much more ambitious goal: to win the Knockouts World Championship, with an exceptional ally in Daria Rae.
