Hiromu Takahashi will put an end to his long and successful tenure in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The company announced on Monday night that one of the most representative figures of its junior heavyweight division will officially leave the company in the coming weeks.

According to the statement issued by NJPW, the decision was made after discussions and joint reflection between both parties. The company also confirmed that Takahashi's last scheduled match will take place on February 11th at the New Beginning in Osaka event.

"After careful consideration and discussions with NJPW management, Hiromu Takahashi, a historic member of the roster, will be leaving New Japan Pro-Wrestling. We apologize to the fans for the sudden announcement. His last scheduled appearance will be at New Beginning in Osaka on February 11th. NJPW wishes him the best in his future endeavors and invites fans to show their support in his final appearances," the company stated in its official release.

Takahashi's departure marks the end of an era. The wrestler began his career in NJPW in 2010 as a young lion and, upon returning from excursion, quickly became the focal point of the junior division. Throughout his career, he captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship five times and won the Best of the Super Juniors tournament in four editions, solidifying himself as one of the most important names in the modern history of the category.

In addition to his singles success, Takahashi also achieved tag team championships, including the IWGP Tag Team Championship alongside Tetsuya Naito, further expanding his legacy within the company.

The news comes just a month after NJPW also confirmed EVIL's departure, a move that had already made a strong impact among the company's followers and has fueled speculation about significant changes in the roster.
