Recently Jeff Hardy revealed that he has been dealing with two bulging discs in his neck for several months. Because of this, TNA has tried not to push the legend too hard, scheduling him in tag team matches to reduce his workload. However, the wrestler competed in a singles match against Mustafa Ali on the weekly episode of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on January 22. A match that TNA almost canceled, as reported by the specialized media Fightful.

"According to Fightful Select, there were discussions about the possibility of Jeff Hardy not wrestling on that show and Matt Hardy potentially taking his place. However, Jeff ended up insisting on doing the match, as he knew Mustafa Ali would take care of him and was eager to work in a singles match. The match ended up going well, with Hardy getting the victory and coming out in good condition," the media wrote.

Jeff himself explained in a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, that his injury was healing positively. Thus, the wrestler will not have to undergo surgery, at least for now. This is how the legend explained it when asked about it:

"Naturally, the debut on AMC was depressing because I was thinking: 'God, please let me be better by the time January 15 comes, the AMC debut'. I wasn't at 100%, but in the second week at AMC I was much better, and I feel excited because I feel like I'm finally starting to heal in a very positive way," he said.

"I received the call after the MRI and they told me the options were a neurosurgeon or a pain management plan. That was terrifying, because I thought it could be the beginning of the end of my career. In some way I have rebuilt my armor. I feel recovered enough to get back into the cold water and, hopefully, avoid injuries in the future," he added.

The Hardys are the current TNA World Tag Team Champions. Titles they successfully defended against The Righteous at TNA Genesis. Five days later, the singles match with Mustafa Ali took place, which has been Jeff's latest match so far.
