MJF has been involved in great rivalries throughout the first six years of All Elite Wrestling's existence. Two of the most remembered and praised rivalries were with Adam Cole and CM Punk. The one he had with the latter led to a Dog Collar Match, considered one of the best matches in the company's history. This was a topic he was asked about in a recent interview for Mostly Sports with Brandon Walker.

"The rivalry with Adam Cole was on par with the rivalry with CM Punk, and then everything went to hell because Adam Cole got injured and betrayed me like a real piece of shit. In fact, I think I now have something precious in the long term with Hangman Adam Page. We are complete opposites. I think I have something precious with Darby Allin. I don't think we could be more different. Right now, what I have with Brody King, whom I despise, is something really special that people didn't see coming," he said.

"If you ask me: 'Is the rivalry with CM Punk the best rivalry of my career?', I don't know if I can say that unequivocally. What I can say is that it will easily go down in history as one of the greatest rivalries of all time. When my career is over, when people think of my greatest rivalries of all time, this one will be there. It won't be any different when CM Punk's career ends: they will say it was probably one of the greatest rivalries of all time for him," he added.

Currently, MJF and CM Punk hold the world championships of the two most important American wrestling companies. MJF will defend his title against Brody King at AEW Grand Slam Australia, while CM Punk could defend his against Finn Bálor at WWE Elimination Chamber, something that has not yet been officially confirmed.
