Kota Ibushi has once again undergone surgery after experiencing an unexpected issue. The Japanese wrestler had already been operated on last October to treat a femur injury. “The Golden Star” was in the middle of his recovery process when one of the screws used in that operation came loose. He explained this in a recent update on his Instagram account.

"An important screw came loose. This time, two points are firmly secured. Absolute rest! They told me several times: ‘Mr. Ibushi, absolute rest!’, but I will do things my own way. I am grateful, truly grateful, to be allowed to have freedom in my rehabilitation. Thank you for the surgery. Thank you, everyone. Thank you, AEW", wrote the Japanese wrestler.

Ibushi’s injury took place at the beginning of October during his most recent match, in which he faced Josh Alexander on AEW Collision. At one point in the match, Alexander lifted Ibushi onto his shoulders from the second rope, but both men ended up falling toward ringside, with the Japanese wrestler landing awkwardly on the floor. Ibushi immediately knew that the injury was serious, and the medical team quickly transported him to a hospital, where he received the dreaded diagnosis.

For now, it is unknown when he will be able to return to action, although the wrestler has promised that he will not do so until he is fully recovered. It is worth remembering that Ibushi has suffered serious injuries in recent years that have kept him away from the ring for far too long. This latest operation serves as a reminder of the importance of rest in any rehabilitation process.
