Despite the widespread feeling that WrestleMania 42 already has its structure defined, the internal reality at WWE seems to be quite different. Just a few weeks away from the biggest event of the year, a significant part of the card is still not officially approved.
Within the company, it is acknowledged that many of the matches that have been presented as "original plans" for weeks have not even been formally discussed in creative meetings, and the final design of the event is still under discussion.
This situation significantly cools down the information that had practically confirmed several high-profile matches for Las Vegas, including clashes like Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker, Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee for the Women's Intercontinental Championship, or possible high-caliber matches involving Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi.
As of today, none of these matches has been officially confirmed, despite the multiple hints and rumors that have circulated in recent weeks.
So far, WWE has only officially announced one match for WrestleMania 42: CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns, a match that was confirmed this week on Monday Night RAW.
Everything else, including Rollins' return after his shoulder injury, a possible singles match for AJ Lee, or Lesnar's definitive role after his appearance at the Royal Rumble, remains open ground and subject to changes.
WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for April 18 and 19 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, WWE still has room to adjust its biggest showcase of the year. But the internal message is clear: beyond the main event, a large part of the card is still not set in stone.
