Paul Wight is making headlines again, this time far from the wrestling ring and more focused on his health. The wrestling giant shared a recent image from the gym on social media that shows a noticeable physical change compared to his active competitor years.

Wight, who during his active career was announced at over 500 pounds, revealed that he currently weighs 393 pounds and his goal is to drop down to 360. In his message, he thanked for the support received throughout decades of his career and made it clear that the process continues.

Currently 393 pounds. Aiming for 360. Thanks to all who have supported me over the years.

The transformation is not by chance. In recent times, he has undergone surgery several times to repair accumulated wear and tear after a career of over two decades. He has had surgery on both knees and hips, and in December 2025, he confirmed that he also underwent minor back surgery as part of his recovery process.

Despite this, the former world champion remains optimistic. He has claimed to have regained full range of motion in his knees and to be practically pain-free, which has allowed him to intensify his training routine. This improvement is key to his intention to return to competition if he achieves the physical goals he has set for himself.

Since joining AEW in 2021, Wight has taken on various roles such as commentator, coach, and occasional presence in the ring. He has not wrestled since 2024, when he participated in the Chris Jericho Cruise, although he recently returned to the commentary table on AEW Collision alongside Excalibur and Tony Schiavone.
