Chelsea Green recounts the incident in which she was mistaken for an escort in New York

What was supposed to be a quiet night during WrestleMania 40 weekend ended up becoming an awkward and viral episode for Chelsea Green. The WWE wrestler has spoken out again about the moment she was kicked out of The Plaza hotel in New York after being mistaken, according to her, for an escort by the staff.

The incident dates back to April 2024, when Green was in the city for a Monday Night Raw taping. She decided to go to the Champagne Bar at the iconic hotel for a drink, but the evening took an unexpected turn when security denied her entry.

They kicked me out because they thought I was an escort. Everything went viral and it was crazy. Then the manager called me to offer a free stay anywhere in the world... but when I tried to redeem it, it didn't exist.

In her appearance on Cody Rhodes' podcast, the wrestler detailed that she was wearing a denim skirt above the knee, a white off-the-shoulder top, a long black coat, and high boots. According to her account, the situation escalated with what she considered derogatory responses from the hotel staff.

Green explained that even a guest intervened to allow them access to the bar, but the altercation continued and ended with security trying to remove her from the establishment when she decided, out of pride, to book a room in the same hotel.

Subsequently, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, the managing company of The Plaza, issued an apology and offered a complimentary two-night stay at any of their properties. However, when she tried to use the voucher, she was informed that it was only valid at a specific location in Vancouver and that it had already expired.

"The best part was when the manager called, as if he had seen the images. And as if he had seen that I was totally... as if it was impossible that those two girls were wrong. I was going to see Chicago, damn it. It almost ruined my night," she added.

It is worth noting that Chelsea Green suffered an ankle fracture on February 6 during the airing of Friday Night SmackDown. The recovery time is still unknown.
