Sarah Schreiber interviews Myles Borne backstage. Borne recalls how he earned his title shot for tonight: he simply forced Ethan Page to grant it to him, even if he had to attack him directly on the ankle. And he did it because "All Ego" believed he wouldn't, just like no one believed he could make it to WWE. But he did, and now he's about to face the greatest North American Champion of all time. Borne knows all odds are against him, but it's something he's used to. And he's done listening to what he can or can't do. "Tonight, I'll stop being known as the deaf boy Myles Borne. Now I'll be known as the new North American Champion", he says before leaving.

Meanwhile, she will continue pushing to return to the orbit of the NXT Women's Championship. Kelani Jordan approaches them to point out that she continues to make history. So much so, that she hopes her locker room companions are taking notes. Jordan boasts of being the first woman to make Lola Vice submit. "I beat her at her own game, and all she could do was cry about it", she says proudly. A furious Vice appears to kick Kelani. The rest of the women in the locker room intervene to separate them, thus preventing a fight.

Ricky Saints talks with Ethan Page in the infirmary, where a doctor bandages "All Ego's" ankle. Saints admits to being worried about it. "Don't worry about that. They could legitimately amputate my foot and I could still defend my title," says a confident Ethan. The ecstatic Vanity Project bursts onto the scene. Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor point out that they just needed to hear Page's advice to get their first gold in NXT. Saints reiterates that soon they will all be champions. That's why tonight they must ensure that Ethan retains his North American belt, no matter what Myles Borne has planned. "We're going to make sure you remain the longest-reigning North American Champion of all time", promises "The Absolute". "Who's better off than us?" asks a smiling Ethan. "Literally no one," replies Ricky.

We see the first part of a video, "NXT Chronicle," starring Joe Hendry. In it, the Scotsman reveals that he was always a big fan of WWE and even dreamed of being a superstar someday. However, he never believed that dream would come true, so he decided to take other paths. After graduating from college, he had a master's in business, was a judo black belt, and played in a band. But something inside him kept pushing him towards professional wrestling. It was in 2013 when he decided to start his training in Glasgow under the guidance of Robbie Brookside, who got him his first tryout with WWE just a year later. However, it was too soon. He didn't even believe in himself yet. Joe needed to keep honing his skills, so he started practicing amateur wrestling. And, thanks to his judo experience, he was able to win two gold medals in the British circuit. During that time, he also recorded musical parodies to mock his opponents. At the same time, his career in the European independent scene had already begun, having the chance to face big names like Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, or Kurt Angle. That's when he recorded his own theme song, using the knowledge acquired in college to promote it on his own. His popularity kept growing. So much so that he could compete for the first time in the United States. And then, the world came to a halt due to the health crisis of 2019/2020. But that didn't stop him. He used the time to keep reinventing himself: changing his hair color, gaining muscle mass, and once the world returned to normal, using his last savings to pay for his visa, return to the United States, and sign with TNA. "I believed in Joe Hendry. Now I needed the United States to believe in me", he says to end the video. (To be continued...)

Damian Priest stars in this week's NXT Origins video.

The members of DarkState walk furiously backstage as they hit everything in their path. The faction is looking for Robert Stone to hand over Tony D'Angelo on a silver platter. Lola Vice appears to inform them that she's going first. Lola approaches the Interim General Manager to demand a match against Kelani Jordan. And not just any match: she wants to face her enemy in an Underground Match! Stone believes the fans will be thrilled with it, so he grants her wish. The match will take place at NXT Vengeance Day. Satisfied, Vice leaves without saying a word. "You're welcome," says Stone.

Match for the NXT Women's Championship
Jacy Jayne (c) (with Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid) vs. Sol Ruca (with Zaria)

Sol gets up with the help of the ropes. Jayne orders D'Errico to ring the bell. The referee asks Ruca. She wants to continue. The bell rings. Jayne runs towards Sol to knock her out with a Rolling Encore. 1..2..3.

Winner and STILL NXT Women's Champion: Jacy Jayne

Fans are still in shock. Zaria pulls Sol out of the ring to perform another F-6, this time on the commentary table. Zaria kisses Ruca's forehead after calling her a "bitch." This brings us to the end of the segment.

Tatum Paxley delivers a promo sitting in the stands. Paxley points out that throughout her life, all she's done is seek a way to be accepted by others, even if it meant changing who she was. She thought that would make her perfect and someone would stay by her side. But they didn't. However, in that loneliness, she learned to listen to the fans, and they have always accepted her just as she is. "You've never wanted a watered-down version of Tatum Paxley. You wanted me," she says. Now, for the first time in her life, she has felt true love. The fans have accepted every quirk of hers, and that's why, when she defeats Izzi Dame at Vengeance Day and puts her hands on the Women's North American Championship, that title won't just be hers, but everyone's. With that said, she addresses Izzi directly, hoping that both can have one last conversation. Dame doesn't take long to respond. The champion appears in a nearby area of the stands. "You're going to realize that even your dreams won't be enough, because deep down you know it's not", says Izzi. Both women try to reach each other to fight, but the fans get in the way. At that moment, the lights in the venue go out, and Blake Monroe makes his entrance.

Tournament Match for a shot at the Women's WWE Speed Championship - Semifinal
Thea Hail vs. Blake Monroe

Hail runs to the ring to attack Blake, forcing the referee to start the match. Thea keeps attacking the Brit, who seeks refuge at ringside. Winner: Thea Hail (1:07)

We see the second part of "NXT Chronicle" with Joe Hendry. He recalls his time in TNA and how he set his sights on winning the company’s World Championship, especially considering the massive momentum he was receiving from the fans. It was at that moment when he made his NXT debut, with the video of that appearance becoming the most-viewed wrestling clip on X that year. Eventually, the pieces began to fall into place one by one, first capturing the TNA World Championship and later entering the Royal Rumble to compete on the grandest stage of them all. "Who would have thought that a TNA Champion would appear at WrestleMania?" he asks. Now he is trying to learn everything he can from the biggest organization in the business, stating that winning the NXT Championship represents the culmination of everything he has done up to this point. "Ricky Saints, and many like him, think I’m just a song and a smile, but I know who I am. I am your NXT Champion and I believe in Joe Hendry. If you believe this kid from Scotland can do something, give me a chance, because you never know where the next WWE Superstar will come from."

Kale Dixon (with Andre Chase) vs. Uriah Connors (with Arianna Grace, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Lexis King)

Both men begin the match at a very fast pace. Connors delivers a corner clothesline to Dixon before sending him out of the ring. Uriah attempts a suicide dive, but Kale stops him with a right hand. Dixon returns to the ring to hit a frog splash, but his opponent gets the knees up. Uriah slaps Kale, who responds with a thunderous chop to the back followed by a slam. 1..2..NO.

Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid) are talking backstage. Zaria approaches them to demand an opportunity at the NXT Women’s Championship from Jacy Jayne, something she believes she deserves after helping her retain the gold tonight. Jayne makes it clear that won’t happen. "You’ve never beaten me. I want what’s mine and I want it next week. Otherwise, I’ll do to you the same thing I did to Sol," says Zaria before walking away.

The Vanity Project (Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes) are chatting animatedly with Ricky Saints in the men’s locker room. Saints announces that next week he will host an "Absolute Experience" on NXT, and they are all invited. With that said, he leaves to prepare everything. Tank Ledger, Hank Walker and Shiloh Hill appear on the scene, greasy and smelling bad after working with mechanical parts. Brad Baylor notices Hill holding a steering wheel and wonders if it belongs to his car. Shiloh confirms that it does. Brad approaches Hill to insult him, but Hill throws the steering wheel into his arms, prompting all six men to start brawling. Several officials rush in to break it up.

We see a promotional video for tonight’s main event.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Robert Stone in his office. The Interim NXT General Manager takes pride in such an exciting night, noting that there is still a title match to come. He then announces part of next week’s card. Izzi Dame enters the office to inform Stone that she accepts Tatum Paxley’s idea of having a face-to-face next week. However, if Paxley lays a single finger on her, she will cancel her NXT Vengeance Day title match. Stone promises to speak with her, but also reminds her that they’re talking about Tatum Paxley. "Exactly," says a smiling Dame before leaving.
