Countdown to WWE Elimination Chamber 2026

Joe Tessitore, Wade Barrett, and Big E welcome us to the first hour of the Countdown Show.

We see a promotional video featuring the participants of the women's Elimination Chamber.

A video is shown about the first-ever Elimination Chamber in 2002 at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

Peter Rosenberg interviews Triple H backstage. The WWE Content Chief nostalgically recalls the first edition of Elimination Chamber, noting that at that time no one had experienced anything like it. Triple H assures that it is a brutal match, but at the same time, it is a franchise for the company. Triple H acknowledges that it is not possible to prepare for this. All you can do is go through it and hope for the best.

Rosenberg asks Triple H which talents have more to prove tonight. The Content Chief recalls that wrestlers like Asuka, Rhea Ripley, and Alexa Bliss have experience, while Kiana James, Tiffany Stratton, and Raquel Rodriguez can show the world who they are. "You can enter the Elimination Chamber believing that no one knows your name and come out of it with everyone talking about you. It's these nights that create talent", says Triple H. Rosenberg thanks him for his time to end the interview.

Cathy Kelley interviews Alexa Bliss in the locker room. Bliss recalls that she has already won Elimination Chamber in the past, but it was a long time ago. Her strategy for tonight will not change from the one she used on that occasion. "The structure is the same, as is the intimidation. The chains don't forgive", she says. Alexa points out that the only goal of this match is to survive, and it's something she loves. And, of course, she hopes to come out victorious tonight. Kelley asks her about Charlotte Flair. Alexa responds that her partner is "fine." At least, "The Queen" insists she is. Bliss knows that, for someone like her, with so many championships in her record, not winning is not pleasant, but she is convinced that she will be fine and that she will be cheering her on tonight.

Michael Cole interviewed AJ Lee before her match tonight. AJ Lee admitted that she never thought she would return to WWE, but here she is. AJ Lee recalled that the reason for her retirement was to treat an injury, as well as to improve her mental health, as she had not been taking care of it properly. AJ Lee confessed that she was afraid to return, but finally did, healthy and ready to return to action. Cole asked her why she chose Becky Lynch as her rival as soon as she returned. "I think it was Becky who chose me", AJ Lee responded as she recalled how the Irishwoman had attacked her husband. That led her to wonder if she could return and, if she did, if she would be able to climb the Mount Everest that "The Man" represents. Now that she has returned, she wants to prove that she can be dominant in two different generations. Cole asked her about the importance of Chicago. AJ Lee recalled that, in addition to being her city, it is also the place where she won her first championship. Now, with the support and energy of her people and her family, she hopes to win a title again and sleep with it by her side. Cole reminded her that it has been 10 years since she fought her last individual match and 11 since she last held a championship. AJ Lee pointed out that evolution consists of planting seeds to reap their fruits in the future. She created the current WWE women's division, turning it into a house she has not lived in. "I know I've earned it. I know what I've done for my division. Maybe they got here in part because of me. I want to prove to myself more than anyone else that I can still measure up", she said to end the interview.

We see a promotional video featuring the participants of the men's Elimination Chamber.

Peter Rosenberg replaces Wade Barrett in the second hour of the Countdown Show.

Corey Graves interviewed Finn Bálor before the show. Graves recalled the Irishman's great debut on the main roster before everything fell apart with his unfortunate injury. Corey asked him what he has to say to critics who consider that Bálor's best moment was 10 years ago. "Corey, I don't do this for the critics. I do it for me, for my family, and for the people who have supported me throughout my journey", Finn responded. "I feel like I have more supporters than detractors. Any night. Any situation. Any match. The main event. Put me wherever and I'll shine. I'll seem to fit, because that's how it is".

The Irishman assured that he has not stopped showing who he is at any time. Despite this, it seems that the gears have stopped working, so he has taken care of greasing them. He will not wait to receive the opportunities he deserves, he will go after them. Finn pointed out that in Belfast he could have beaten CM Punk, but luck was not on his side. Still, he showed that he can rub shoulders with the self-proclaimed "The Best in the World". Despite his attack on the champion, Finn made it clear that he respects him. Both of them do. "CM Punk asked to face the real Finn Bálor, and that's what he got", he said before promising that he will leave the champion lying down again.

Graves reminded him that a victory would have a domino effect for WrestleMania. "Corey, a match doesn't define my legacy. A legacy is established over a career. For 10 years people have asked me 'what if?' Tonight I will answer that question. Many people talk about ending their story. I don't need to end mine. I need to rewrite the entire narrative and prove to myself that I can be a champion," the Irishman said to end the interview.

Byron Saxton interviewed Trick Williams backstage. Trick made it clear that he is not nervous about his debut in Elimination Chamber. In fact, all his opponents tonight have something in common: none of them are able to finish the job. He, however, is the future of this business. "I am greatness personified. I am the result of what you would get if you put Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, and Mike Ditka in the same place at the same time. I want the gold. Let's talk about that", he says before leaving.

Cathy Kelley interviewed Kiana James backstage. James pointed out that each and every participant in the women's Elimination Chamber is dangerous, and that includes her. Unlike the rest of the world, Kiana is not surprised to have covered Charlotte Flair to earn her spot in the Elimination Chamber. For a long time, people have underestimated her, but from tonight on they will realize that she is "inevitable". Kelley thanked her for her time to end the interview.

Hannah Heavin sings The Star-Spangled Banner in the center of the ring to end the Countdown Show.
