Cody Rhodes has been presented as one of the top faces of WWE in the current stage, but a new comment has raised doubts about whether he also leads in the commercial aspect. During the latest podcast The Dirty Sheets, Billi Bhatti stated that, according to his observations and internal sources, CM Punk would be selling more merchandise than the current champion.
Bhatti explained that one of the most visible indicators at live events are the signed photos sold at the official stands inside the arenas, a product usually reserved for the top stars of Raw and SmackDown.
If the photo is still available at the end of the show, it means it hasn't sold too well. It's a good barometer to measure who is really excelling in merchandise sales.
According to Bhatti, at the events he has attended, he has seen Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso's photos still available at the end of the evening, while he claims to have never found any unsold CM Punk material.
The analyst also claimed to have consulted sources to learn about the real situation behind the scenes. According to the information he claims to have received, CM Punk would be surpassing Rhodes by a considerable margin.
CM Punk sells his photos like hotcakes... and surpasses Cody Rhodes four to one. In most categories, the difference is around two to one.
Bhatti clarified that Rhodes remains a solid seller within WWE's catalog, but rejected the idea that he is the undisputed number one in sales.
