The new stage of Ricochet in All Elite Wrestling has brought him many joys. The wrestler has gained a lot of notoriety and prominence, although he had to change to a heel character to achieve it. However, Ricochet has taken this attitude beyond the ring, becoming an Internet troll who attacks everyone indiscriminately. However, there are lines that should not be crossed. A rule that Ricochet ignored earlier this week.
It all started after a fan named Sandi wrote a comment on an exclusive digital video in which Ricochet reacted to his title defeat at AEW Revolution. "His performance has not improved," the fan wrote. Ricochet then decided to take a look at Sandi's account, discovering that she suffers from multiple sclerosis, a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. "I'm glad you have MS," replied the wrestler without hesitation.
As expected, the tweet generated a lot of discomfort among fans, who considered that Ricochet had gone too far with his comment. Such was the negative reaction on social media that journalist Bryan Alvarez wrote the following: "If he's crossing his fingers, it's because he hopes to still have a job by the end of the week". Many assumed that the company would take severe measures against the wrestler for his inappropriate behavior.
In an attempt to calm the waters, Ricochet deleted the controversial tweet. However, that did not stop him from posting others mocking the situation. "It's so funny the amount of kids who have tweeted me wishing harm, even death, saying some of the most VILE things about me AND my wife. People who try to make fun of me EVERY DAY. But those same kids can't handle it when I give it back to people. Damn cowards, everywhere," he wrote in one of them.
Finally, this afternoon he posted a tweet to apologize to Sandi. "I unloaded my hatred towards the IWC on Sandi and, unintentionally, on other people affected by MS. She didn't deserve it and that's why I sincerely apologize. From now on, I will do better", he wrote.
Once the tweet was published, Sandi chose to block her account. So far, All Elite Wrestling has not commented on the matter, but many expect the wrestler to receive some kind of punishment or suspension, as has already happened with talents like Jack Perry or Jeff Hardy in the past.
