Leila Grey suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament during her match against Mercedes Moné on the December 6 episode of AEW Collision. As a result, she needed to undergo surgery. However, it wasn't until this week that she was finally able to have the operation. "Hi guys. I finally had my knee surgery yesterday. Everything went well. I'm at home recovering and will start rehabilitation tomorrow. Thank you all for the support during this time," Grey wrote on her Instagram Stories.

In January, Grey explained that the operation was delayed due to the condition of her knee. She needed to regain full range of motion in her leg in order to undergo the procedure. Because of this, she had to go through a lengthy pre-rehabilitation process that finally came to an end.

"Today is January 19th and I had my consultation with a surgeon, so it's been over a month since my injury. I was finally able to see the surgeon today and, unfortunately, the assessment was that I still don't have full range of motion in my leg, I can't fully extend it or bend my knee completely, so, because of that, I have to do more pre-rehabilitation. At least another month of pre-rehabilitation, twice a week, and after that he said I should be able to have the surgery.

So it's going to be a long and complicated road to recovery. But I remain positive, I remain optimistic. I will do what I have to do and my plan is to come back even better than before. So wish me luck. I will continue to update you on my recovery and what's happening. Thank you for all the lovely messages you have sent me. I really appreciate all the support and love, and see you soon," she wrote in January.

At the time of her injury, Grey was part of the Sky Team alongside a returning Scorpio Sky, Christopher Daniels, Dante Martin, and Darius Martin. The faction competed in both AEW's television programming and ROH's. During her absence, the team has added a new member: Zayda Steel, who recently joined the promotion.
