Jade Cargill has been the subject of criticism since her time in All Elite Wrestling. Many fans believe that the wrestler has barely improved her skills despite having five years of experience in the business. These criticisms have intensified in recent months, especially when the wrestler reached 100 days as the Women's Champion of WWE with zero title defenses.

This fact only added to a list of criticisms that Cargill disagrees with. "The Storm" explained this in a recent interview with Complex Graps, where she stated that it is the fans themselves who have not shown interest in seeing her fight technically.

"Daniel Bryan taught me a lot about technical wrestling and I tried. I tried to do some technical wrestling, it's funny because when I did —I've tried, you can check my old matches in my previous company— I didn't get any reaction from the audience. I learned a lot, I trained with him every week. Do you know what the fans want to see? They want to see me lift someone and throw them in the air, see me kicking ass. They don't want to see me on the ground struggling. I know how to do it, I know how to wrestle on the mat, but they don't want to see that. They applaud, they boo, they stand up from their seats, they do what they have to do when I'm beating someone up, that's what they like," she said.

"The people whose technique and advice I'm using are two. One is Booker T and the other is Billy Gunn. I moved away a bit from what Billy Gunn told me at the beginning. If you look at Billy Gunn, look at his size, he knows how to use it. Besides Lash, Nia, and probably Raquel, I'm at Raquel's level right now. I'm 1.78 meters tall. I'm a big girl. There's no reason for me to be exchanging blows equally with small girls. Look at how I look, I'm visually stunning. I can do it, I lift people, that's what I do. I throw punches, that's what I do. And I look good doing it."

Cargill will defend the WWE Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42. The rivalry began just after "Mami" won her opportunity at Elimination Chamber, when "The Storm" threw several poisoned darts at the Australian, accusing her of being a "plug-in." Both women have faced off on SmackDown in the last two weeks, although the existing tension has not yet led to physical contact.
