WWE is celebrating a new episode of Monday Night Raw tonight, this time number 1,713, from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The red brand episode will continue its journey towards WrestleMania 42 and will be broadcast live on Netflix. Solowrestling will bring you the results in this news as every week.
Tonight's episode will feature several matches and segments of interest, including a defense of the Intercontinental Championship. Additionally, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk will be present at the venue. As always, we invite you to comment on the note to give your opinion on what happened in the show.
WWE Raw begins on Netflix!
We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists at the venue: The Judgment Day, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, The Usos, and Je'Von Evans (who meets IShowSpeed).
The show starts with a video recap of last week's events, with Oba Femi knocking out Brock Lesnar with a Fall From Grace.
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are the ones to open tonight's show. "The Beast" and "The Oracle" head towards the ring. The fans boo them both. Heyman takes a microphone, only to be booed again. Paul introduces himself as the "advocate" of the only man on Earth who has won world championships in NCAA, UFC, and WWE. The fans keep booing. Paul warns them that they are angering his client. And all because of what happened last week. Heyman recalls how "The Beast" destroyed 20 men, after which he found himself face to face with Oba Femi, who took advantage of a distraction from Seth Rollins to surprise his client. Heyman reiterates that the Nigerian was only able to take down Lesnar because he was tired, as well as distracted.
Paul knows that everyone is thinking that "The Ruler" will defeat his client at WrestleMania. But that's exactly what was said at the time before Lesnar faced The Undertaker, and everyone remembers how that match ended: with "The Beast" breaking "The Deadman's" undefeated streak. A fact that still bothers people. Since then, many men have presented themselves as the chosen one to defeat the 21-1 guy. Men like Goldberg, Braun Strowman, Dean Ambrose, Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, and John Cena also believed they could beat "The Beast", but they couldn't. "And it won't be Oba Femi, who had his WrestleMania Moment when he put his foot on Brock Lesnar and pointed to that sign. That was your WrestleMania Moment. You reached your peak. That's the biggest moment of your career, because at WrestleMania you will be defeated. You will be taken to Suplex City. You will receive an F-5. You will be victimized. Damn it, Oba Femi, you will be conquered by Brock Lesnar!", he exclaims. Suddenly, the lights in the venue go out.
Oba Femi appears on the scene!
"Ooooooba, Oooooooba, Oooooooba!", the fans chant as the Nigerian heads to the ring. Lesnar laughs as he waits for "The Ruler". Heyman leaves the ring to let the two men face off. "Now with no excuses," says Femi. Brock approaches Oba to kick him in the stomach. After that, he lifts him on his shoulders, ready to execute an F-5. However, the Nigerian manages to free himself to apply a clothesline that throws "The Beast" out of the ring. Lesnar remains motionless on the ground, surprised by what just happened. "You're finished!", exclaims Oba. Brock stands up, ready to return to the ring, but Heyman pleads for him to retreat backstage. "You're not that lucky, kid!", shouts Lesnar. He keeps an eye on his WrestleMania opponent, who is still being cheered by the audience. "The Ruler" poses to end the segment.
Dominik Mysterio delivers a video promo. Dom directly accuses Finn Bálor of being responsible for the loss of his Intercontinental Championship. That said, he affirms that the Irishman got what he deserved. Then, he addresses Penta, promising to defeat him tonight. This way, he will regain the gold to return it to where it belongs: the waist of the "King of Fighters".
The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) make their entrance, coming down the venue stands. The Samoans interact with the fans as they head to the ring.
Tag Team Match
The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs. The Vision (Austin Theory and Logan Paul)
Theory and Jey start the fight. Austin catches Jey in a headlock. The Samoan frees himself, only to be taken down with a shoulder tackle. Jey recovers to hit his opponent, who falls flat on the canvas. The Usos team up against Theory, applying a double elbowdrop to him. Austin and Paul use tricks to turn the situation around. Jimmy ends up on ringside, where he receives a clothesline from Logan. As a result, he falls over the audience barrier.
Theory and Paul punish Jimmy back in the ring. "Logan sucks!" chant the fans. Theory and Paul perform a double suplex on Jimmy. Austin hits Jey to make him fall from his corner. After that, he returns to Jimmy to continue the punishment. Logan receives the relay to catch Jimmy in a headlock. Meanwhile, Jey returns to his corner. Jimmy throws several elbows to free himself from his opponent. After that, he knocks him out with an enzuigiri. Both men lie on the canvas. Jimmy and Paul crawl to their respective corners to relay to their partners.
Jey enters with full force, launching a quick offensive on Theory. He clings to one of the corners in an attempt to escape from his opponent's clutches, but only manages to take one of the protectors with him. Austin throws it at Jey before surprising him with a right hook. Jey recovers to execute a spear. Jey seeks height, but Logan makes him fall. Jey hits the unprotected corner.
Jimmy approaches Logan, but he surprises the Samoan to throw him against one of the posts. "The Maverick" takes out a golden brass knuckle from his pants. Suddenly, LA Knight appears on the scene to surprise Paul, whom he throws against one of the posts. After that, he slides the brass knuckle to Jey, who doesn't hesitate to use it against Theory. He falls flat on the canvas. The referee, who witnessed what happened, decides to end the match.
Winners by disqualification: The Vision
Jey, Jimmy, and LA Knight converse on ringside. Alicia Taylor announces that The Vision has won the match by disqualification. At that moment, Jey returns to the ring to throw a new right hook, this time on Paul, who also ends up falling on the canvas. Jimmy picks up the Tag Team Championships to leave with Jey and LA Knight. This is how we reach the end of this segment.
We see a video recap of the main segment of the last episode of WWE Raw, which ended with CM Punk hitting Roman Reigns.
Byron Saxton interviews The Americans (The Great American, American Thunder, and American Bravo) in the stands area. Saxton asks The Great American about everything that happened last week. "First, as always, I want to ask how many of my countrymen are here tonight," says The Great American. Thunder takes the floor to reproach "The American Elf" for wanting to steal The Great American's mask, as well as his King of Kings sword. "You can't steal Mexican culture, the little dance, or the heart of the Mexican people. Kiss me a lot!", he exclaims. "Kiss my ass!", adds Bravo. The Great American then addresses his nemesis. "Shorty, last week I showed everyone that you are nothing," he says before affirming that the real Great American is Mexican. That said, he promises that he will defeat him again, and this time he will take his mask for his people from Mexico.
Becky Lynch makes her entrance. The Irishwoman steps into the ring, where she is booed. "The Man" doesn't understand why they react like that to her while they cheer for a woman who has been absent for ten years. "I took 10 months off, not ten years, and I did it because you were tired of seeing me succeed. You were tired of seeing me win world championships. So I went home with my family, with people who appreciate me, with my daughter, the love of my life. And when I came back, I made my point clear. I didn't go for world championships. No. I went for the Intercontinental Championship. And I made that title the most important, the most interesting, the most representative female title in all of professional wrestling. And I am tremendously proud of that title. I am tremendously proud of what it represents. I love that title. I made that title!", she says. But now she has to see AJ Lee hopping around as if she really deserved that championship. Becky recalls the day she returned home, her sanctuary, after losing the championship. The Irishwoman found her daughter singing "Let's Light It Up", jumping around and shaking her hair as if she were AJ Lee. It was as if her daughter didn't realize that her mother is the best wrestler of all time. And it's not just her who says it, but everyone. Sports Illustrated and Bleacher Report say it. "Meanwhile, AJ Lee's greatest source of pride before this is that she dominated the Divas era. Well, I killed the Divas era. I drove a stake through its heart, tore the butterfly wings off that title, and that's exactly what I'm going to do to AJ Lee. I'm going to get my hands on her," promises "The Man".
LET'S LIGHT IT UP!
AJ Lee bursts onto the scene! Becky Lynch wastes no time in escaping!
AJ Lee takes a microphone and climbs onto the commentary table. "Why don't you face me head-on? No, no. You like to play dirty, right? Because you know that every time we've met in this ring, I've kicked you like a dog," says the champion. She wonders what she should do to get rid of the Irishwoman once and for all, and she believes she has the solution. "I'll give you what you want. AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania," says AJ Lee. Lynch laughs, pointing out that she has fallen into her trap. "I remember the last time you competed at WrestleMania, 11 years ago. What happened the day after? Oh, yes. You went straight to the office and handed in your resignation, and we didn't hear from you for a decade. Hey, don't worry. At WrestleMania, in Vegas, when I regain my title, I'll save you the trouble. I'm going to finish you off, and we'll never hear from you again. Welcome to the Big Time!", exclaims Lynch to end the segment.
LA Knight and The Usos walk backstage. Jimmy thanks "The Megastar" for his help. LA Knight wonders why Jey didn't hide the brass knuckle to use it behind the referee's back and thus take the victory. An annoyed Jey makes it clear that things don't work like that. If you mess with his family, you have to pay. LA Knight understands, but he thinks Jey is starting to sound like Roman Reigns. Jey is tired of everyone telling him the same thing. They start a discussion that Jimmy quickly stops. Jimmy convinces his brother to step forward. After that, he addresses LA Knight. "Just like CM Punk is about to find out, I would be careful with what I say when talking about our family," says Jimmy before leaving.
We see the stars of the Boston Celtics, Derrick White and Joe Mazzulla in the front row.
Je'Von Evans vs. Grayson Waller (with Kofi Kingston)
Both men struggle. Grayson knocks down his opponent before kicking him. Je'Von uses his great agility to take control. Evans expels his rival from the ring before launching a suicide dive. The power of the jump causes Je'Von to land on his head, but he doesn't seem to be hurt. Evans brings his opponent back into the ring to execute a diving crossbody. 1..2..NO.
Waller surprises Evans with several knee strikes before expelling him from the ring. After that, he distracts the referee, hoping Kofi will attack his opponent. However, the Ghanaian doesn't do it. Grayson brings Je'Von back into the ring. After that, he approaches Kingston to ask for explanations. Evans takes advantage of it to launch a tope on Waller.
The action returns to the ring. Grayson surprises Je'Von to expel him once again from the ring. Waller pushes him against the audience barrier, but Evans jumps to avoid the impact. Je'Von stands on the barrier to jump on the Australian with a cannonball. Grayson regains control back in the ring. Waller punishes his opponent in one of the corners.
Waller keeps hitting Evans. Furious, he responds with a superkick. Je'Von keeps hitting Grayson, who he knocks down with a diving clothesline. Evans finishes him off with a springboard enzuigiri. 1..2..NO. Grayson and Je'Von exchange attacks. Evans surprises the Australian with a german suplex. Waller gets off the ring to prepare his Rolling Thunder Stunner, but Je'Von stops him on his return with a knee strike.
Evans executes a second knee strike before seeking height in one of the corners. A recovered Waller makes him fall. The action moves to the nearby corner. Evans surprises Grayson with a kick before applying a Frankesteiner. Waller lands on his back on the canvas. Je'Von runs to the opposite corner to gain momentum and finish his opponent with an OG Cutter. 1..2..3.
Winner: Je'Von Evans
Evans celebrates in one of the corners while Kofi attends to Grayson. "I didn't want you to be disqualified. I preferred you to win, you know what I mean? You wouldn't have liked to be disqualified. You could have beaten him, man," says the Ghanaian.
Paul Heyman approaches Adam Pearce backstage. "The Oracle" wants Pearce to schedule a match pitting The Usos against Austin Theory and Logan Paul for the Tag Team Championships next week at Madison Square Garden. And he wants it to be a Street Fight. The Raw General Manager assures him that he will consider it. "What the hell...?", Heyman asks before calming down. Paul thanks him before leaving. However, Pearce stops him. The General Manager reminds him that he has to go out to the ring. Heyman doesn't understand. "You asked for time to deal with the Seth Rollins issue. Paul, that time has come," says Pearce. "After the night I'm having, you still want me to go out to the ring to deal with the Seth Rollins issue?", "The Oracle" asks. "You wanted the time. The moment has arrived," Adam replies. "I'm fed up with you. I'm fed up with Seth Rollins. I'm fed up with everyone here. I'm fed up with everything," says Heyman as he faces Pearce. "Alright," he adds with a deliberately forced smile before leaving.
Byron Saxton interviews Original El Grande Americano in the stands area. The masked man greets the fans with a "hello" in Spanish before switching to English so everyone in the stadium can understand him. Original El Grande Americano recalls how El Grande Americano cheated this past Monday to defeat him in their one-on-one match. In doing so, that impostor disrespected everything he stands for. For that reason, he interrupted the Rey de Reyes sword presentation that took place on Saturday. And soon he will put an end to this whole farce, because there is no room for both of them. "I’m going to prove there is only one El Grande Americano, and you’re looking at him", he says. "Grassiassss!" he exclaims in Spanish to end the interview.
Paul Heyman makes his way to the ring, where he is booed. "The Oracle" admits he’s not having a good night. And worst of all, he’s alone. Bron Breakker is not medically cleared and it will be a long time before we see him again. Brock Lesnar has already left. Austin Theory and Logan Paul are being attended to after what happened tonight. So there’s no one who can protect him from Seth Rollins. That said, he makes it clear that "The Visionary" has pushed him too far. And that doesn’t mean he wants to face him, but WWE certainly isn’t big enough for the two of them. So he’s come up with something to settle this, here and now.
Meanwhile, a hooded figure walks toward the crowd barricade. Paul continues waiting for "The Visionary", reiterating that he is alone and at the mercy of any attack. The masked man jumps the barricade and climbs onto the announce table. Once there, he reveals his identity. It’s Seth Rollins! At that moment, four Boston police officers approach him. Heyman laughs.
Rollins raises his hands to make things easier for the officers, who escort him out of the venue. Meanwhile, Heyman gloats. "You’re going to jail. And when you do, because you’re a criminal, your wife will divorce you. And when she does, she’ll marry half the locker room. Someone will call social services to take care of your daughter. But don’t worry, because I, Paul Heyman, will adopt your daughter so she knows her father...", says "The Oracle", enraging Rollins. He breaks free from the police and runs back into the ring, where he quickly lands a right hand on Heyman. He collapses onto the mat. The police storm the ring, this time to handcuff Seth. The officers take him away. A hurting Heyman laughs as he watches the scene. And so this segment comes to an end.
Tag Team Match
The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria
Bayley and Asuka start things off. Kairi distracts Bayley, allowing Asuka to surprise her by grabbing her hair. She slams her down to the mat. Bayley and Valkyria quickly turn things around, teaming up against Asuka. The action spills to ringside, where the Japanese duo take control. Back in the ring, The Kabuki Warriors work perfectly together against Bayley.
Sane punishes Bayley using the ropes, forcing the referee to intervene. Asuka takes advantage to strike "The Role Model" illegally. The Japanese team continue the assault. Sane traps Bayley in a Tarantula. She then follows up with a diving forearm. 1..2..NO. Kairi delivers several chops before locking in a headlock.
Bayley escapes (thanks to a miscommunication between the opponents) and tags in Lyra, who enters with a diving crossbody. The Irishwoman continues her attack on Sane, hitting a sit-out powerbomb. 1..2..NO. Kairi counters a suplex from Valkyria into a DDT. Asuka gets the tag. She holds Lyra in place so Sane can hit a neckbreaker. Asuka covers. 1..2..NO.
The action continues. Valkyria hits a Fisherman Suplex on Asuka, followed by a diving elbow drop from Bayley. 1..2..NO. Asuka recovers and drags Lyra to the corner, hanging her upside down. Kairi tags in and hits a diving footstomp on the Irishwoman. 1..2..NO. Bayley breaks it up.
The fight spills to ringside. "The Role Model" hits a Bayley-to-Belly on Asuka onto the announce table. Bayley climbs the barricade to attempt a diving elbow drop, but Kairi saves her partner just in time. Valkyria surprises both with a rope dropkick before bringing Sane back into the ring and finishing her with a Nightwing. 1..2..3.
Winners: Lyra Valkyria & Bayley
Jackie Redmond interviews the winners in the ring. Lyra and Bayley call out The Irresistible Forces, challenging them to face them in the greatest arena in the world (referring to Madison Square Garden). The TD Garden crowd boos. "The Role Model" realizes her mistake. "Wait a second. Are Bayley and Lyra going to beat Nia and Lash?" she asks. The fans cheer. Bayley decides that’s the perfect way to end the interview.
IShowSpeed approaches Penta backstage. They greet each other enthusiastically. The influencer asks him to show his famous "Penta Walk". The Intercontinental Champion obliges. At that moment, Dragon Lee appears. Penta introduces him to IShowSpeed. "Are you a dragon? I’m a dog," jokes the influencer. After a bit more joking, IShowSpeed shakes hands with both masked men before leaving. Lee thanks his compatriot for last week’s match, noting that they put on real wrestling in the ring. "Whenever you want a rematch, you’ve got it. You know, brother", says Penta. Lee thanks him again and leaves, wishing him luck in tonight’s match.
Byron Saxton interviews Je'Von Evans in the stands. Evans admits he’s a bit sore after tonight’s match, but it feels great to have defeated Grayson Waller. As for Kofi Kingston, Je'Von makes it clear he respects him but doesn’t want to align with him. Evans doesn’t want to be known as "the new Kofi Kingston" or "Kofi Kingston’s guy." He wants to be "the first Je'Von Evans". He also has dreams—the biggest being to win gold in WWE. That’s why he’ll be watching the next match closely. However, he makes it clear he doesn’t want to limit himself to the Intercontinental Championship—being a champion in WWE, period, sounds just as good.
Adam Pearce welcomes IShowSpeed backstage. The influencer says he’s having a great time tonight. At that moment, Danhausen approaches them. He wonders how IShowSpeed can be so famous if he only has 180 human followers on social media. "180 MILLION followers," the influencer corrects him. Danhausen checks his phone and realizes it’s true. After confirming it, he comes up with a brilliant idea to make money. He asks IShowSpeed for his passwords so he can rename the channels to "IShowSpeed-hausen" and share the profits. Naturally, the influencer refuses. "No? You think you’re better than me? You think you’re better than Danhausen? I’ll tell you something. I’ve got a new achievement for you. Want to know what it is? You…are…cursed!" says Danhausen before disappearing. "WHAT?" a shocked IShowSpeed asks. He asks Pearce who just cursed him. "I don’t know, and I’ve got business to handle, so enjoy the rest of the night," the GM replies before leaving.
An enraged Asuka blames Kairi Sane for the loss. "This loss is your fault! If you care about our team, make it up to me!" shouts "The Empress of Tomorrow." A dejected Kairi tries to approach her, but Asuka yells something in Japanese and storms off. IYO SKY approaches Kairi to comfort her. "I know we’ve had our ups and downs lately, but you don’t deserve to be treated like this. You deserve better," says "The Genius of the Sky." "KAIRIIIII!" Asuka yells. Sane reluctantly follows. Raquel Rodriguez then appears to confront SKY for interfering in her business with Stephanie Vaquer last week. "And I’d do it again if I had the chance," SKY responds. Rodriguez says she’ll play with her if that’s what she wants, and challenges her to a match next week. "I’ll finish what I started with her," she says. "I accept," SKY replies without hesitation. Raquel leaves, ending the segment.
Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan make their entrance. Suddenly, Stephanie Vaquer attacks Liv from behind! Dominik tries to pull Stephanie away but gets punched in the face for his trouble. Two referees intervene, allowing Liv to kick Vaquer and slam her into the stage screen. The brawl continues into the Gorilla Position, where multiple officials are needed to separate them.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Penta (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio (w/ JD McDonagh)
Mysterio attacks Penta before Alicia Taylor can make the introductions. He keeps the offense going as the bell rings. The champion recovers with a series of kicks, finishing with a Pendulum Kick. Dominik sends him out of the ring and follows with a suicide dive turned into a DDT.
Dominik beats down Penta near the barricade before bringing him back inside. He hits three consecutive springboard sentons, but Penta dodges the third and responds with a clothesline. Mysterio fires back with a flying elbow. The referee forces him to break in the ropes, allowing McDonagh to strike Penta illegally.
Dominik hits the Three Amigos, but Penta blocks the third suplex and sends him outside before hitting a tope. Back inside, Penta lands a somewhat rough Penta Driver. 1..2..NO. Mysterio counters a Mexican Destroyer into a Michinoku Driver. 1..2..NO.
Dom trips Penta against the ropes thanks to JD’s distraction and hits a 619 before going up top. As he prepares for a frog splash, Finn Bálor appears. JD confronts him but gets taken out. Dominik dives with the frog splash, but Penta gets his knees up and rolls him up. 1..2..3.
Winner and STILL Intercontinental Champion: Penta
Bálor enters the ring to stop Mysterio from escaping. He hits a slingblade and a Shotgun Dropkick. McDonagh saves Dom from a Coup de Grace. Finn dives onto both with a tope. Back inside, JD interferes again, allowing Dominik to escape into the crowd while Finn takes out McDonagh. Bálor finishes JD with an inverted DDT, a Shotgun Dropkick, and a Coup de Grace. He then climbs the turnbuckle, challenging Dominik, who remains safe in the crowd. End of segment.
CM Punk meets Jimmy Uso in Gorilla Position. "I’m not telling you what to do, but I’d be real careful out there, man. My brother is ready for war," Jimmy says. "Thanks, Big Jim," replies "The Best in the World" before heading out.
CM Punk heads to the ring, greeting fans in the front row. "CM Punk! CM Punk!" the crowd chants. "You guys want to have some fun tonight?" he asks before referencing Jimmy’s warning. Punk mocks The Usos, saying they can’t do anything without Roman Reigns’ permission. In fact, he says this has made him realize that no Samoan can do anything alone—including winning a world championship. "No one in that family can be World Heavyweight Champion," he says. He claims he has them so shaken that Roman has sent his entire Bloodline after him—yet none have crossed his path.
Punk recalls Roman calling him "old" last week. "Roman called me old," he says. And it didn’t bother him because of the word—but because of who said it. Punk admits he is "old," but he’s proud of it. Otherwise, he’d be dyeing his beard like Roman. He says age only adds pressure—and that pressure makes him better. Right now, he feels like the best in the world with the World Heavyweight Championship. "Roman Reigns, if you look at me and all you see is an old man, you’ve already lost, because you’re underestimating me". He reminds everyone he knocked Roman down with one punch last week and says Reigns won’t keep up at the big event.
He adds that when Roman realizes he can’t beat him, he’ll get a GTS—and the next morning he’ll understand he wasn’t beaten by an old man, but by "THE OLD MAN." Punk notes that Gunther and Jey Uso couldn’t beat him either. "And if I have to face all the Samoans, maybe I should start with him," he says before being interrupted.
UUUSSSSOOOO!
Jey makes his entrance, but Punk keeps talking. Jey enters the ring and confronts him for disrespecting his family. "We can do this right now, Punk. I can kick your old ass right now," Jey says. "I said I’m done talking, and you never got the rematch you deserved. You want to do it in Boston? Let’s go, Uce," Punk replies, dropping the title. Jimmy appears to calm things down, reminding Jey that this attitude cost them earlier. They should step aside. Jey disagrees, saying Roman should be here handling this.
Roman Reigns makes his entrance!
"The OTC" heads straight to the ring. He confronts Punk, then turns to his cousins. "Last I checked, you two already had a tag match tonight, right?" he asks. "Yes," Jimmy replies. "And that’s done, right?" "Yes." "Then with all due respect, take your brother and leave my ring," Roman says. Jimmy starts to comply, but Punk interrupts: "I think you should stay. He needs the help." Enraged, Jey charges but gets punched. Jimmy engages Punk, but Roman strikes with a Superman Punch.
Officials flood the ring. The Usos are pulled away. Jey shouts to Roman: "Come on, Uce! Go get him! You know what to do! You know what to do! We gotta smash ’em all!" Roman turns and hits a spear on Punk. He drags him to ringside and slams him into the post before delivering a powerbomb through the announce table. "What do you think your words are going to cause now?!" he yells before striking him again. Roman walks up the ramp as officials check on Punk. Despite the pain, Punk laughs. "I don’t need any help. I’m not the one who needs it," he says. And that’s how this week’s episode comes to a close.
