As part of its regular schedule, WWE NXT held a couple of live events last weekend in the state of Florida. However, the first one, held in the city of Lakeland, ended with Elio LeFleur, one of the new superstars of the brand, apparently injured.

The French wrestler teamed up with Tavion Heights, Eli Knight, and Kale Dixon to face Birthright (Lexis King, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, and Uriah Connors) in a tag team match. A match that had to be stopped after LeFleur and King were injured following a spot. This afternoon, the specialized media Fightful provided more details on the situation.

"At the NXT live event on March 20 in Lakeland, Florida, Elio LeFleur and Lexis King fell to the ground during their match on the show. King received a blow to the head with the knee, while LeFleur was holding his arm. Although King was fine shortly after, more details about the state of the WWE Speed Champion have been revealed," the media wrote.

"Fightful Select has reported, according to sources close to Elio, that he did indeed suffer an arm injury during the event and has been using a sling due to the injury. The severity of the injury has not been confirmed, nor whether he will have to take time off the ring because of it. LeFleur is currently scheduled to compete in a tag team match on tonight's edition of WWE NXT," the report concluded.

LeFleur is the current WWE Speed Champion of the brand. A title that is not expected to be defended until the next WWE Speed tournament is over, which has not been announced yet. Meanwhile, the Frenchman had replaced Sean Legacy (also injured) in the tournament for a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships. For now, the company continues to announce his match for tonight. In it, he will team up with Eli Knight to face The Culling (Shawn Spears and Niko Vance) in a first-round match. It remains to be seen if this match will ultimately need to be modified due to LeFleur's condition.
