We are in a digital age where any comment on social media is subject to scrutiny from around the world. Of course, this also applies to professional wrestlers, many of whom have been involved in controversies due to inappropriate, offensive, controversial, or simply misunderstood comments. The latest of them has been starred by Andrade El Ídolo, who has not taken long to put out a fire that was starting to spread on the Internet.

It all started on Tuesday night during the broadcast of the most recent episode of WWE NXT. At one point in the first match, Kendal Grey blocked a kick from Lainey Reid to immediately respond with a spinning back elbow. A move that reminded many of the one popularized by Andrade. Of course, fans didn't take long to comment on the moment on social media, with many pointing out that it was a tribute to El Ídolo. However, he responded with a "Who?"

The Mexican's response received harsh criticism from fans, who reproached him for his lack of respect towards a fellow professional. Others, logically, criticized him for belittling a WWE talent now that he is no longer part of the company. Andrade, on his part, wanted to clarify his statements in a new tweet. "Hahaha! I asked who she was because, honestly, I didn't know, but now I do, and it's thanks to you all! She definitely has a future in this business. Good luck!", he wrote.

Andrade posted a second tweet focused on the spinning back elbow executed by Grey, pointing out that it was not done in the best way, although he encouraged the wrestler to keep perfecting it. "The first times, my elbow wasn't the best. Over time it got better. It's not bad, but practicing it, she will do great", he wrote about it.

Currently, both Andrade and Grey are two of the most prominent talents in their respective promotions. The Mexican has found success since his return to AEW, where he has continued to have great matches against some of the top wrestlers in the company. On the other hand, Grey is one of the women with the most promising future in NXT. The wrestler aims to compete for the brand's top championship at Stand & Deliver.
