Josh Alexander will have to leave the wrestling ring for an indefinite period of time, as announced by the wrestler himself through a message on his social media. Alexander confirmed that he is dealing with a serious knee injury that will require surgery. The procedure is scheduled for next Wednesday.

The wrestler also regretted not being able to defend the Canadian Championship of MLP at the ROH x MLP Global Wars show that will be recorded tonight, in addition to acknowledging that he does not know what the future holds for him. The doctors have not provided an approximate date for his return to action.

The injury occurred in the most recent episode of AEW Collision, the special Slam Dunk Sunday, where Alexander teamed up with his The Don Callis Family partners El Clon and Konosuke Takeshita to face JetSpeed and Místico for the promotion's Trios World Championships.

Midway through the match, Alexander raised his knees to block a Standing Moonsault Knee Drop from Mike Bailey. However, something happened at the moment of impact. In pain, the Canadian retired to ringside to be attended to by the medical team, but he could not return to the ring.

At 38 years old, Alexander is recognized as one of the best talents in the world and one of the pillars of TNA Wrestling during his time with the company. After finishing his time there, Alexander made the leap to All Elite Wrestling, where he quickly joined The Don Callis Family. Since then, he became a regular wrestler on television programming, in addition to having several title opportunities. His unfortunate injury will keep him away from action for an indefinite period of time.
