Josh Alexander has already undergone surgery to treat his knee injury, as announced by the wrestler himself and his wife Jade Chung through their social media. "The operation was a success", Chung wrote as she shared a photo with her husband using a fun filter. "I lived... and I am beautiful," a more upbeat Alexander replied.
At the moment, it is unknown when Alexander will be able to return to competition. The wrestler himself recently confessed that it is a serious injury and that doctors have not been able to provide him with an estimated date to return to the ring. So much so that he has even wondered what the future holds for him as a professional.
The injury itself occurred during the tapings of the special episode of AEW Collision Slam Dunk Sunday, where Alexander teamed up with his The Don Callis Family partners El Clon and Konosuke Takeshita to face Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, and Místico for the promotion's Trios World Championships.
At one point in the match, Alexander raised his knees to block a Standing Moonsault Knee Drop performed by Bailey. However, the spot did not go as planned. Upon receiving the impact, Josh left the ring to be attended to, but he was unable to return to action.
At 38 years old, 21 of them dedicated to professional wrestling, Alexander is recognized as one of the best talents in the world. After establishing himself as a star in TNA Wrestling, the Canadian embarked on a new adventure in All Elite Wrestling, where he quickly joined the ranks of The Don Callis Family, one of the company's most prominent factions.
Since his arrival, Alexander had become a recurring talent on television programming, in addition to having several title opportunities. Josh was scheduled to defend the MLP Canadian Championship at the ROH x MLP Global Wars show that took place last Friday. A title that may become vacant due to this unfortunate injury.
