WWE and All Elite Wrestling differ in many aspects, partly due to the audience their shows are aimed at. WWE offers a PG product, which often leads the company to avoid showing blood on screen as much as possible, as well as censoring profane chants like "Fuck You" or "Holy Shit". Something that poses no problem for Tony Khan's company.
Last February, fans at the Pearl Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada started an impromptu chant against ICE, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement service created by President Donald Trump, before the match between Brody King and MJF. The latter has taken this episode as an example to explain the differences between both companies, including their political stances.
"We had a 'Fuck ICE' chant. What's so great about that is that, in our company, our fans have a voice, and in the other company, many times, when fans swear or say something they don't want them to say, they simply censor it. They completely censor the audience and edit it out of the program, or create fake crowd noise so the chants aren't heard. I'll also say that they have made the decision to lean a bit more to the right. Triple H has given a couple of speeches at the White House. Linda McMahon is in the cabinet. We are not affiliated with any party, so anyone can feel comfortable attending our shows," he said on The Adam Friedland Show.
WWE's political stance has been criticized by many fans, and even by some people within the company itself, who do not agree with supporting the Trump administration. This is the case of Mick Foley, who recently announced his departure from the company once his legend contract expires.
