Alberto El Patrón (José Alberto Rodríguez) has been released from La Pila penitentiary center in San Luis Potosí after obtaining conditional suspension of his sentence. The former WWE and Lucha Libre AAA champion reached a reparatory agreement with his wife, who accused him of physical and verbal aggression on April 6.
The wrestler paid one million pesos as compensation for the damage and received forgiveness from his partner, which allowed for his immediate release during the hearing on April 11 before a control judge.
Although free, El Patrón must comply with strict restrictions: prohibition of contact with the victim, mandatory attendance to rehabilitation therapies for aggressors, and possibly periodic check-ins. The criminal process remains open and is not closed.
The arrest occurred when authorities found his wife with visible injuries on her face and arms, leading to initial preventive detention.
This is not the wrestler's first legal incident. In 2020, he faced charges in Texas for alleged assault and sexual assault, which were dismissed after delays. His history has marked his post-WWE career in AAA and independent circuits.
His tumultuous relationship with Saraya (Paige in WWE) is also well known, with whom he was involved in several public scandals. Both decided to end the relationship in 2017 in an unfriendly manner. Alberto and Saraya heavily criticized each other for years, accusing each other of being the aggressor in that relationship.
